Sadly I had to cancel our vacation we had planned for February 2012 and I just don't think I can wait for February 2013. This means that I was thiking of planning a trip for November 2012 instead. How is the week before Thanksgiving. My DD will be 9 and in 4th grade, so I don't think it will be a problem to take her out of school for a week. I really wish we could go during a time that did not have any of the Magic Kingdom special night time parties which is why I was thinking of February, but.... Please let me know your opinions.

Thanks

That is the week we went in 2008 and it was out BEST trip ever!! The crowds were GREAT!!

Our family went that week in Nov. 2010. Ours kids were 9, 8, and 2. It was perfect! The weather was awesome and the crowds were fairly low. The most wait time we had for a ride was 5-10minutes! Not including TSM, which we had to grab FP for quickly because they disappear very quickly.:thumbsup2

Great I guess I won't be so sad then about February!!! Are all of the Christmas decorations up by then and the Osbourne Lights?? We went 2 years ago the first week of December and thought it was really nice (DH thought it was a little chilly). I really just wanted to try a time though that didn't have any special MK parties!

We visited that week last year and are doing it again this year:thumbsup2
It is a very nice time to visit. There is MVMCP, the gingerbread house at the GF and the Osborne Lights. But the crowds are moderate and the pace is unhurried; it's just not as "hectic-feeling" as during the summer and during the holidays. Our weather last year was great and we hope for the same this year.

To avoid the events which draw the crowds (and locals), avoid the MK area the nights of MVMCP. We found that folks on the way there via the monorail stop by to see the gingerbread house at the GF, so try to see that during the day when it is less crowded. As for the Osborne Lights, get there early if you want to see it. It is kind of tough to avoid the crowds for this one, though, because you really need to walk around and see all the beautiful lights and it takes time to do that. But it's definitely worth it! :thumbsup2
