Is that a real busy week to be in disney . I just booked may 19th to 24th 2013 at SSR with intentions of trying to get BLT @ 7 months . This is my first booking with dvc .

I can go really any time in may as my son is only 2, so school isn't an issue . And if things go well , I will be changing the time of year we go to sept but I may have to go in may and dont want to deal with unnessasary crowds being the same points to go early may .

We will be driving so that would be the reason we go the week before memorial day and squeze an extra day in my week off .

I don't have any real-life experience to share, so will let others comment on that. We're booked for May 18-25, 2013 and were also wondering for the crowds level (not so much as to DVC rooms). From the various crowds calendar available online, it seems like this week would generally be classified as a "low-medium" to "mid-medium" level in terms of crowds level. Though there might be some different in terms of crowd level vs. DVC availability, given that May isn't particularly a low-point season for DVC, I would expect the similar medium level crowds with DVC as well.

I was there this year for the first time Memorial Day weekend--Thursday through Monday. We are summer travelers so compared to then, we found that the crowds were not that bad, especially the first night we arrived on Thursday.

We ended up getting to MK around 10:00 pm and there were still FP's left for the Space Mountain--park closed at midnight...never seen them available that late.

We didn't do a lot of the rides and didn't make it to rope drop any of the days but if they were not huge crowds at night, then I bet you could get a lot done if you were there first thing in the morning.

Have a great trip!

We have gone this week twice and both times the crowds were manageable until the Friday before Memorial Day. Monday-Thursday were great with a crowd level of about 5 or 6 out of 10. Friday, especially after noon, the crowds really started picking up. We always leave on the Saturday before Memorial Day so I cannot comment on that day.

For DVC demand, it is moderate time and you should be able to get BLT lake view at 7 months and even some chance for MK view. Much more difficult is standard view which is often gone by 7 months out any time of year. Note if you decide on Sep other than the last couple days of Sep, you will be going at the lowest DVC demand time of the year and you will have high probability of getting lake view or MK view but still only a small chance for standard view. Actgual park crowds are very manageable that time of year.

Be aware portions of May and Sep usually have an onslaught of something that are not there any other time of the year: lovebugs.

Thanks for the replies I was looking to know about the crowds at the parks not dvc . This is my first dvc stay so I will happy anywhere .

My preference in this order BLT , AKV ,BCV, BWV , SSR

Sounds like a good week since I will be leaving on fri or sat .

You should just beat the early stages of the summer crowds. My kids get out on May 23rd. A lot of schools are still in session until June, though. We've been the week of Memorial Day and it was moderately busy, I'd say 7-8 out of 10. I'm sure the previous week is less busy.

We went this year from May 26th to June 1st. Most of the parks were 'reasonable' but no matter what day we tried to go to MK, it was EXTREMELY busy. Finally in desperation I woke my two boys up super early and went during the Early morning hours. At that time, we were able to get on 9 rides and felt that we had 'seen' MK. Thank goodness for park hopper passes because it allowed us to be flexible with what park we ended up in. Even on the days that MK was suppose to be a 5 or 6 in crowd level, it was annoyingly crowded.

But we had a great trip and would travel again during this time since it was only one park that was difficult to navigate. Once they open all of Fantasyland, perhaps it will get better since it will space people out a bit?......

We were there this year from Sunday-Friday before Memorial Day. I had no problems making a reservation for a studio at around 5 months for Sunday through Saturday. About 2 months out I decided to try for a one bedroom and was not able to find availability anywhere for Friday night. There was availability at most resorts for Sunday-Friday, even as close as 2 months.

I've been several times during this time frame. The crowds aren't as bad as the normal summer crowds but weekends can be quite busy. I believe the Florida Resident passes are blacked out beginning in June so they are trying to get in their last visits before the blackout period. A few years ago I was in EPCOT on Memorial Day itself and the crowd level was insane for EPCOT. DHS is usually doing Star Wars weekends the last two weekends of May & first two weekends of June so unless you are really into Star Wars you should avoid DHS on the weekends. I've found weekends at MK can get crazy or not no matter when you go but it shouldn't be as extreme as peak summer time. AK I tend to stay away from except for an early morning or late afternoon this time of year because it is unbearably hot for me. I definitely don't plan to spend an entire day there when it is hot.

We were there this year and thought the crowds were fine. We didn't have any issues except not being able to ride Soarin at EC but that is because TT is closed down. We were there for Star Wars Weekend and that was doable too. We also didn't get there at park opening either. We arrived on Thursday and left on Tuesday to go back home. I would definitely do it again. :thumbsup2

We went from May 17th to 28th in 2008. It was great the first days and as we got closer to Memorial Day weekend it got alot busier. Started Wed, a bit busier on Thurs and by Friday it was crazy.
