We're planning our next trip now in December instead of August. What kind of crowds should I expect and is it gonna be to cold to swim? My dates are December 15th through December 22nd of 2006. Any info is appreciated!!

Your dates in December should not be crowded. As you leave the crowds will be coming in. We go in December every year the weather can vary from day to day. Last year we went the 2nd week a couple days were beautiful and swim weather but some days were cold and windy. Even with the weather it is our favorite time of the year to go.

We have been the last 2 years around Christmas. Once arriving a week before and staying after Christmas for a few days. Once arriving a week before and leaving the 22nd. Both were good trips, but the one staying after Christmas was not good after the 25th. We learned our lesson. Your dates should be great. The crowds will decend on the 25th. As for weather, you just never know. Last year I wore shorts some days, jeans some days, and a winter coat one night with thin gloves to keep my hands warm. Pack for everything. We did swim a few days, but it was overcast quite a few days too. The water is warm in the pools--heated, but the getting out of the pool part was not fun when it was chilly.

The week before Christmas is my family's favorite time to go. One morning during early entry at the MK, I have pictures that make it look like we were the only ones in the park. It didn't even start to get even slightly crowded until after lunch.

My DH & DD went swimming at Blizzard Beach on CHRISTMAS DAY a few years ago and they thought that it was great. It's was a little chilly in the early morning, but the late morning and afternoon was nice.

It seems like the closer you get to Christmas the more crowded the parks become, so the dates you have chosen are perfect!

Last year we went 12/15-12/21.

It was packed the night we went to see the Osbourne Family Lights. Also, on our last day we took a quick stop at Disney-MGM Studios to see if we could ride TOT before going home. We got there around 11:00 and the FP machine was already handing out FPs for after 4:30 (it was the same with RNRC).

It will probably be somewhat crowded on your last day or two. Otherwise it shouldn't be bad at all.

Thanks everyone! We were gonna stay at the Beach Club Resort because I heard Stormalong Bay was amazing. But if it's gonna be chilly, then I might just book the Polynesian instead. Thanks again!!

Almost all the schools in this part of the country finish up on the 16th, so I would think the crowds would start to pick up that weekend - and keep getting bigger as you get closer to Christmas.

As for weather, we've had days when we swam all day and days when we needed coats and gloves - on the same trip! I'd be prepared for almost anything. Have fun! We love going in December.

Will be visiting at the same time (15-22 Dec/Saratoga Springs). Hopefully the crowds will be minimal and maximum sunshine. :sunny:
