Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

So on the way home from work today, my battery light came on. Then a few minutes later my temperature light came on and the gauge went to hit and I ended up on the side of the road calling a tow truck. Of course I won't know until tomorrow what I'm dealing with, but I really don't want to buy a new car right now! Did I mention I just had it inspected and new tires put on a week and a half ago?

Sounds like the serpentine belt broke. Usually not too spendy (depending on the car and if other damage was done). Sending good vibes!

Hope your cars get cheaply fixed! What is up with this board? First everyone or their someone in their family gets sick now everyone's cars are breaking down!! We are the nicest board and the most broken board here!

Today was a successful shopping day! Raincoat, 2 new pairs of yoga pants/capris, 2 new tops, new jeans, and a hoodie were delivered. Picked up a pair of Adidas running shoes for 50% off today at Meijer along with some glow sticks, a backpack for myself that will be perfect for lugging my big camera around the parks, a backpack for DS7 to use on the plane, travel size shampoo/conditioner, and a few pairs of cheap short for the 7yo.

this weekend I will start putting together outfits and packing stuff we don't use right now.

Checking so much off the to do list!!

Ha. We were stuck for what seemed like forever on Potc last trip. "Dead men tell no tales....." Come to think of it, a month out from our last trip 4 years ago I needed surprise surgery, and our Durango totally died.... weird.

Even better - I'm 2 miles from the meijer "thrifty outlet" - where overstocks get sent and marked wayyyyy down. It's dangerous but I can't pass up such great deals!

2 weeks before our Disney trip last year DS4 decided to do a science experiment and dump quickrete into the gas tank of our Expedition. I freaked out and was already searching craigs list for cars. DH was an hour away at work (thankfully self employed) and came home. He was able to get it all out (he warned me not to turn on the car). I know, what kind of mom would let her kid out of her sight to do that? Well, this mom that loves having 3 acres for her boys to run around all day!

You are right...I laugh every time I tell the story now...along with the whole daughter born in the car story.

Well that's great if he's right! I can't imagine why they would be telling this woman that her son auditioned for and will be filmed in a Christmas parade taping on the 4th if that is not actually true? But perhaps it is something completely different. They have booked a trip and all around the filming, from Dec 1-5th.

Hi! I have a luggage handling question -- maybe someone here has some experience and would know the answer. We'll be checking in to Pop on a Friday morning, then moving to Beach Club the following day for the rest of our trip. I want to spend most of our time in the parks, and not dealing with the luggage. We will ask them to hold our luggage and then deliver it to our room when we arrive at Pop, but we have an 8:15 a.m. ADR at Beach Club the following morning. Will we be able to check out of Pop, give bell services our luggage to ship to Beach Club, and make it over there ourselves by 8:15, or is this totally unrealistic? Do bell services operate 24 hours/day? We also have an Amazon delivery that will be waiting for us at Pop that will need to be sent to Beach Club with our luggage -- just to complicate things!

I've decided Saturday is going to be our prep day. Laying out all the outfits for the whole family, and figuring out what everyone still needs. That gives me 3 weeks to get things squared away. Now that it's coming up, time is almost going TOO quickly!!
