Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Aww haha! Mine is round and tubby and short SO pants are the WORST LOL
Mine is the opposite. She still wears 2T in the waist but needs 3T in most brands for length. I want to create a clothing line for skinny girls. For reference she will be 4 the week we get back.

My son is pretty much the same. Needs 18-24months for the waist (with pull ups) and 2T for length!

Well I took ds to he doctor today for his flu shot so I can check that off our planning to do list :sunny: He was a champ and super excited to show everyone at preschool his spider man bandaid. 40 days!!!!
That's on my list for this week. I had to get mine at work last week. She was so worried why mommy got an ouchy (bandaid). I said mommy had to get a flu shot so we could go to Disney World and so do you. Cue the big eyes! She's a trooper at the doc. Last year she did give the nurse "the look" after she got her flu shot. You know the look of you better get away from me right now or I might hurt you look. No tears ever though.

You guys are lucky! My oldest has been saying that she doesn't want to get a flu shot since this spring (when she had to get her preschool shots). She throws a huge fit, screaming and crying. I can't tell her about the shot until we get there. I've got them scheduled for a week from Thursday. Hoping to stop at the pharmacy and get mine done first, so they can see it's not a big deal but I doubt it will help much.

Hi, I'm looking for opinions on the quickest way to get to Hollywood Studios from EPCOT around 7:00 p.m. Is it quickest to go to the front entrance and catch a bus, go out through International Gateway and walk, or go over to a resort and get the boat? I'd be trying to do this on a day when the parks are very crowded. I haven't done much park hopping before, and I tend to stay away from the buses whenever possible, but I don't want to make it more difficult than it has to be! Thanks!

I keep reading that walking through the boardwalk is the quickest - but some have said with timing of the bus it would be faster most likely?

I think we may try walking from HS to Epcot mid week on our trip. The kids will be in the stroller so it's just DH and I that will add that extra 15 min or so walk!

I got my flu shot over a month ago, the day I was in orientation for the flu shot clinics I work at! Haha. I brought DH one home from a clinic last week and gave it to him while the boys watched in hopes they would remember it's not a huge deal. But I'm still dreading taking the kids. My oldest was great until last year when he FLIPPED out for no apparent reason. Yikes.

I called the doctor yesterday trying to find out when the walk in flu shots are for the kids but waited on hold for 20 min and gave up. I need to get on that!

I hadn't even thought about flu shots! I think dh got one at work recently, but otherwise we don't usually do them. Hmm... :scratchin

My 7yo has asthma so the flu would be terrible for him. His asthma specialist says he needs one every year. I'm a homecare RN and bring all sorts of germs home so the whole family gets them!

If my kids were low risk/low exposure I might not either :)

I'm in healthcare specifically pediatrics. No shenanigans for her. She had to get "tied down" for her ear last year. There were tears for that expectedly but after it was all done I made her shake it off and give her ENT surgeon a hug and tell him thank you for making my ear feel better. She still loves him. She had final check up and hearing test last week and asked when she was going to see her doctor again yesterday.

DH said he "doesn't believe in" flu shots. :confused3

I don't get them and I'm not sure if I want one yet. Considering my health record lately, I probably should!

My DH never believed in them either...until our friend got the flu and was deathly ill and out of work almost 2 weeks. He decided it was better to not chance it haha.

I keep forgetting to get my flu shot, I'm glad it keeps coming up here as a reminder! I should do that tomorrow. Everyone else in my family received theirs already, I'm the straggler.

Thanks! I keep thinking that the buses will be crowded and it's really close enough to walk. But, then again, we'll have a 5-yr-old with us, so maybe not...

I'm on the hunt for a Tusker House breakfast on 11/28 (Tuesday). I'd also consider one on 11/27 or 12/3, so let me know if you have any of these that you're planning to cancel. I need it for 6, eventually, but I'd be happy to start with fewer than that if need be! Thanks!

I have one on 12/3 at 940am for party of 3 that I may cancel. But probably hang on to them for a little bit longer till I finalized the tour plan. Will you like me to PM you when I am ready to cancel it?

Yes, please! No worries if you change your mind. :)

Robo's map shows it here - it doesn't look *too* bad, but with a walking 5 year old it may take 3x longer than planned ;)

Last year on Saturday after Thanksgiving to boat ride from Beach club to HS was ridiculous. Wait for the boat was 30m plus to 20m boat ride. I would have walked if I'd known better!!
