Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I'm struggling a bit with what to request at AoA. High floor is a given for me, top would be best but 3rd would suffice. We don't have nappers and we plan to be up early so I'm not too worried about noise above us. Although, if a family is coming back later at night and we're already in bed that could be challenging. Anyway, my dd really wanted Nemo when we decided on AoA. However, when FD came out, there were no Nemo rooms available and we had to take the generic "family suite" which basically means they stick us wherever there's room. It's possible we can get a Nemo suite, but more likely we'll be in either Lion King or Cars. We were in Cars last time but only for 1 night. Still, the kids generally want to try something different. I'm kind of leaning toward just requesting "close to transportation" and "high floor" (or top floor, whatever the wording is) and we'll just take what we get. I can't decide if it's worth doing the TP fax or not.

Also - I heard this from my Travel Agent, just FYI...

"Wanted to let you know...I did a little research this morning and one of my colleagues had to do fastpasses for a client this morning. She could not get Frozen in Epcot until after 12:00on December 1. Since she did that first thing at 6:00 am CST this morning, I am sure more have been snagged since that time. I am worried about the time that will be available for you and wanted your input."

We came up with a solution for me, but I wanted to share with you all if it helps!

Yes, I also had some difficulty booking FEA for 11/30. I was able to get my kids a fp at 1:35 (had wanted 2:00) but noticed most of the other times available were after 3. I obviously will need some back up plans in case dh and I can't get fastpasses with our kids. :(

I hate this for you. I wish they could have fixed it, ughhhh. There are so many times for everything I'm sure those will work out, but I really hope you can get a this one too.

Touring Plans fax - they'll send a fax to your resort at some point before arrival with your room request. I'm not sure if this is a free service or if you have to be a subscriber...anyone?

This is part of the paid subscription. And after looking at the standard rooms at sports I think I will send a fax too - there are a small number of standard rooms on one side of an otherwise preferred building. Super close to transport and the main hall. Lets hope I get lucky this time!

Yeah, the TP thing with sending the fax is just a convenience; anyone can send their own fax. That was what I planned to do before I decided to subscribe anyway. And I've heard that the Port Orleans resorts are good with requests from faxes, which I hope is true because I'm picky!

Hi, has anyone did the Pirates and pals fireworks cruise? Or is anyone planning to? I am debating booking it. Thanks

I'm having a full-on freakout over here. Period scheduling relative to trip (TMI? I'm just gonna assume we're all ladies here!), fitting in everything we want to do at MK, and understanding the finer points of FP are currently driving me nuts!

Anything specific? We're here to help! :) I can totally relate, I was pulling my hair out trying to figure stuff out. There's so much at MK!

Has anyone reserved FPs having a party ticket for which you didn't have a regular park ticket to cover the day? For instance, I have 6-day park hoppers but I'm going to the parks 7 days with the MVMCP. I'm wondering if that worked for people at 60 days out because I've read conflicting stories. I just linked my MVMCP tickets so I hope it works tomorrow.

Once I collect my thoughts I'll definitely have some questions! Currently hoping we can move some stuff from our crazy Tuesday schedule to Wednesday pm EMH after Wishes but...

If I only need one FP at AK for a morning, once I use it and don't need to make any more for AK, can I then schedule a FP for MK for that night?

Someone here just told me that you can indeed do that - use the one FP at AK and then schedule MK after you use it.

I spent a good bit of time yesterday and today on the TP site getting my plans in place so I could figure out what times I need for my FPs. I'll be getting up at 5:30 tomorrow morning so I can down a cup of coffee before I have to start making the FPs at 6:00 am central time.

I've made a prioritized list, and I'll be ready to go!

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

One benefit to living at home that I plan on taking advantage of: having my dad throw things at my head til I drag my sorry butt out of bed at (what seems like to me) the crack of dawn! :lmao:

From what I have read on the FP FAQ thread (I haven't tested it since they rolled out the new system in Apr 2016) but since you are allowed 3 per day...you can schedule and use just 1 at AK. Once that is used you an go on the app and actually schedule 2 more at MK to get to your total of 3 allowed per day! It gets tricky at the tiered parks, but since you mentioned AK and MK I won't go into that.

I too am getting up at 5:30 central time so I can roll out of bed and drive up to McDonald's and use their wifi to book my FP tomorrow. My internet is not so good and I don't want to book from my phone since it's a party of 5 it might be trickier. I reallly hope I can get FEA on 12/1 before 2:30. Otherwise we might just try and rope drop it. It's an EMH morning and the wait times on those mornings haven't actually been that bad. But it's a 1/2 mile walk from the entrance and while DH and I don't mind that...dragging 4 kids 7 and under might take a while.
