Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Does anyone else only get touring plans ressie alerts around midnight? It's happened 4 or 5 times to me now. I'm always asleep and it's gone in the morning when I see it. Boo! I only stay up that late for free dining release :P

Not this Time around but I did last time. Luckily I'm a light sleeper and it always woke me so I snagged them.

I just tempted myself by looking at the EMM...got all the way to the confirm page and then remembered we are trying to make this a "cheap" trip and don't NEED all those extras. But daaaaang that is so tempting. The boys would LOVE it and my DH would get our money's worth on that breakfast.

GAH. What to doooooo.

If you factor the cost of a PPO breakfast the extra $ is not that much more. Then it depends if you are doing free dinning or paying out of pocket.

We have the FD, so BOG is free. That's why it's so tough!

I should probably not, but my usual justification in all things in this trip is that DS2 is FREEEEEE haha. I just wish he were tall enough to ride SDMT.

Soooo I booked it :rotfl2::rotfl::cool1:

Figured if I can't talk DH into it, we can cancel. But with MK closing early for parties both days, we can get this done on our first day and it will be so extra special for the kids. And me. Yeah, mostly me. And DH wasn't so keen on PPO BOG because the food is meh. this will surely entice him.

Tell him all the bacon he wants, plus you have saved the QS credit you would have used on the meh breakfast at BOG!

I have to wait to book it until we have the money for the trip all set aside. Hopefully it won't sell out. I've been checking, and most/all dates through September still had availability as of a day or two ago, so I think I'll be okay.

I can't decide! I don't think I'm going to go for it. I'm having a hard time justifying the extra cost, esp with fd. But those of you who do it, come back and post about how awesome it was so that I know it's too irresistible for next time :D

Has anyone ever stayed at the doubletree Disney springs? We decided to definitely drive down the day before our check in and spend the first night off property so that we can go drop our bags at CR the next morning and hit the park rather than wasting our first official day driving. I'm leaning towards the doubletree and I'm thinking we will welcome the 15 min walk to DS after 8 hours in the car. We will hopefully arrive around 3pm, check in and get settled, walk to DS and eat dinner there (EOS and ghiradelli ice cream!), visit the Lego store and anything else, then walk back and go to sleep. Does that sound reasonable?

I figure maybe this is a limited time thing so I jumped on it. More justification lol!

I've not stayed there but I think your plan sounds very doable! We spent a solid 3 hours in DS last trip and ate at WPE. there's a lot to see!

Errr just when I think I have things figured out, I see that one of the EMM days at MK is the morning we planned to spend there before the Xmas party that night. Does anyone know how EMM crowds affect rope drop? Will I still be able to ride Space Mountain 3 times in a row with no line?! :scared:

I'm also trying to hunt down an earlier reservation for H&V to line up with the SW fireworks. **Fingers crossed**

And its officially FP booking month for us! I'll be diligently working on my schedule :badpc:

All prior trip reports state that EMM has no effect in rope drop. The number of EMM participants is too small in number to have much impact.

If I get to keep EMM I'll have a BOG on 11/29 at 8:20 for 4 people to drop if anyone here is looking. I won't know for a while yet though. Need time to work on the hubs haha

I'm sure that those of you booking the EMM know that the only rides during that time are The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight.

But if you can get on those three as many times as you can, you can be first in line for other rides at rope drop when everyone else will be heading for 7 Dwarfs.... Just wanted to be sure everyone knows it's only 3 rides that are open, and of course, breakfast.

I figure if we do it, my oldest DS who loved SDMT can ride it on a loop for an hour, while DH and I take turns taking the little one on PP and WtP. saves us 2 high value FP and we can eat and head to Space to get in a ride or 2 early on as well.

I just read in the Star Wars thread there is a rumor that the star wars fireworks/show may end on October 1st. Seems really unlikely since they JUST finished those projection towers. But it's Disney, so you just never know. I will be SO BUMMED if there is no star wars nighttime show now. that was a huge draw for us :crazy2:
