Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Our primary goals for the party are to ride rides and view the fireworks. We plan to watch Elsa light the castle as well, we hope to catch the early version of that so we can focus on rides until it's time for the fireworks. I do wish my daughter could see Tinkerbell fly out of the castle at the beginning, but I guess it's not worth staking out a spot for hours.

I ordered an autograph book last night with this deal, too... plus some more Star Wars shirts for my DD in the next size up!

November AK hours are extended until 6, I just got this from WDW Prep School -
Disney recently released park hours updates, and Animal Kingdom is now scheduled to close at 6 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. each day in November.

Though they still haven't added any evening/nighttime entertainment to the November schedule for Animal Kingdom, sunset is around 5:30 at that time of year, so it seems likely that they will be adding it at a later date.

One whole extra hour at AK? What will we do with all that time? Haha

I'd realllllllllly love to know what's going on with HS and the Star Wars show and dessert parties. I've tried taking myself out of spending the $ on the party but I just can't haha. Now I need to know what nights it will be on because my ADRs are likely going to get totally screwed up by it. We have Hollywood and vine for 5:30 on our planned HS day and that will likely be way too much food to get our money's worth of desserts right after. I'm thinking we will do a lunch ADR that day. Somewhere. Haha.

Man this is tough!

The suspense is killing me. The planner in me wants everything set before I go back to work. I need to know if I need to rearrange my plans and/or stalk alternate ADRs! I doubt we would get our money's worth out of the dessert party so I can't justify it, although it seems fun. We may need to hop back to HS one night if Fantasmic runs into the fireworks...

Yes! Im impatient!

From what people are being told they are intentionally keeping the SW show and fantasmic overlapping because the SW show can't handle the crowds like F! Can. Luckily for us we are good with skipping F! this year and I know my kids will like the SW show more.

I haven't seen F! for several of our past trips...they haven't changed it much at all since it first started, and I have no problem skipping it.

I never did figure out what my big problem was, but for some reason I just had NO desire to see F! last time we went. I've never seen it other than on video and I just don't care to. I'm a huge SW fan though, so I'd probably be happy seeing that show 3-4 times during our trip! I'm thinking if we plan on doing a dessert party, we'll pick a day later in our trip so we can watch them first without it and see how that goes. If it goes well, we can cancel the dessert party and get our money back. :)

I know it's classy Disney, but meh. We just didn't love F!

And I think the cancellation for dessert parties is more than 24 hours - 72 if I remember right so just keep that in mind! :)

Not for the SW dessert party, for that it's 24 hours. At least, that's what yulilin3 says frequently. :)

We saw F! last time and our responses ranged from "Meh!" to "That was too scary!!" So I'm happy to skip it this time for the fireworks. I really wish we knew when this stuff was happening too!

Does anyone here know if there's a way to use your Chase Disney rewards to pay down your Disney balance without converting them to gift cards first?

Another question: have any of you received your $200 Disney gift card from the credit card offer a month or so ago? I've gotten my first statement and spent over $500 on it so I'm hoping the gift cards will be coming soon. What about the $50 rewards on your other card, have you gotten that yet?

I'm interested to the know the answer to this too. I opened a card on my husbands referral and convinced my mom to open one as well so I would love to get those gift cards in time to pay off the trip balance!

Once I charged the required amount, I think my reward came about 3-4 weeks later. I was surprised it came so quick!

Not sure on the $50 reward yet. DH got approved for his with my referral, but we haven't used it yet. Planning to pay the trip remainder with it next week.

i was wondering if the Chase Disney was worth it. It always seems like I sign up for this stuff then find out I really won't save or I have to just through 99 hoops to get the deal. Can you still buy GC with Target red card and save 5% ?
