Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I'm from MI, so 50's still flip flop and shorts weather :P

I figure we will pack a hoodie/fleece jacket for all and a pair of long pants to change into if it gets too chilly. I'm hoping mid 70's weather is true because that would be perfect for us! the man/boys in my family are sweaty beasts and last october was high 80's...they were such whiners.

Well, Iowa isn't too different from MI, but I don't break out the shorts until at least mid-60's! lol

I'm looking forward to leaving the cooling towels at home this time. :)

What kind of weather are you all planning for? I've seen average highs seem to be mid-70's. I don't recall what the average low is though. I assume we should bring jackets, hats, gloves just in case (probably don't need coats though). We probably also need shorts and t-shirts. Hmm... good thing SW allows 2 checked bags each! Oh wait, we don't have 12 suitcases! :rotfl:

Thankfully, we drive, so I usually end up packing the whole house. :rotfl:

It did get really cold one year-so much so that we all ended up in our big coats. It was cold and rainy, if I remember correctly.

Of course, it's also been blazing hot and humid o e year as well.

Ah, November/December weather-ya gotta love It!

Maybe we'll have an inkling of the overall weather pattern based on the whole of November by the time we go.

I may have a tantrum on Main Street if it's cold enough for heavy coats. I'll be that crazy mom in tears buying overpriced Disney jackets because I refused to pack appropriately :crazy2:

It's hard to know how to pack when you know you have to return to the mid-west in early December. It could be freezing here when we get back! Brr...

Oh my goodness... someone talk me down! We're currently planning to be at wdw for 8 nights (11/28-12/6) w/ 7-day ph tickets. We're planning to do a MVMCP but beyond that we'll just wait and see what other extras are available before we can decide any more things to do (like EMM, DAH, etc...). I find myself longing to add just.one.more.day! But where does it end? If I add one more day, we would be able to do each park twice, but really I'm wishing we could be there long enough that I would feel we could take a day off and do something else. How do you decide enough is enough? How do you stop yourself from adding one more day (which could lead to yet one more day after that, and then one more day, etc... until you're there for 2 weeks and taking out a second mortgage!)?
I hear ya about the slippery slope! We booked a 9-night stay with 6-day ph tix, which gives us 2 down days. Length of stay was determined by when Frontier flies out of our city, so hopefully it holds true for the fall! We've done 2 days each at MK and Epcot, 1 day each at AK and DHS, and that works well. Don't think I've ever had 2 down days, but it'll be nice with a 4 and 1yo! Might resort hop a bit, which I've never done.

How was the rest of the park that day? Jam-packed or manageable?

They filmed on Veterans Day last year. That day was pretty bad in MK. Plus it was EMH that night. We went back the next day, a party day, and it was much more manageable even though they were still filming.

:scared1: I'm almost afraid to ask, but how on earth did he do that?!

Honestly he is just old and decrepit. Haha. Jk. Kinda. He does extreme sports for a living and he has just wrecked his body. It gives out on him a couple times a year. Evidently 5 days of nonstop Disney has that effect.

Most likely yes! :)

Us too! Curious to hear ur park picks each day. princess:

Those are our days too :) I've been sketching out the days but so much up in the air w/AK and Dec hours not out yet. But my preliminary is:
Sun 27 - MK
Mon*28 - AK or HS?
Tue 29 - EP->MK
Wed*30 - HS or AK?
Thu 1 - EP
Fri 2 - MK and/or EP?

Hmm, the AK/HS days are the days MK doesn't have a party, so it would be the only shot to see Wishes, but with the new AK nighttime and the SW fireworks at HS it's doubtful we'd make it over to see Wishes either of those nights. See, not enough time!!

Here are mine so far (subject to change -- probably several times!):
Mon 11/28 - arrival, no park
Tu 11/29 - MK plus MVMCP
Wed 11/30 - Epcot (possibly hop over to HS to see fireworks)
Thu 12/1 - AK
Fri 12/2 - HS
Sat 12/3 - Epcot (I guess)
Sun 12/4 - MK (party day but we won't attend it)
Mon 12/5 - AK/HS/Epcot (most of us will probably do AK and HS but I might spend time at Epcot)
Tu 12/6 - go home :(

My very tentative plan:

Mon - AK
Tues - MK until party
Wed - DHS and possibly hop to MK for fireworks and EMH
Thurs - Epcot
Fri - MK until party, early back to hotel to pack :(

If we add the Sunday I don't know lol

And I just realized we won't be hopping to MK if there are still Star Wars fireworks because My 7yo would much prefer that to wishes!

Have any of u seen the candlelight processional at Epcot? Is it worth trying with 2 small kids. If we try for the 5 o'clock show do u think we could do without the dinner package? I hate to use 2 table credits just to be able to see it. We didn't spend a lot of time at Epcot last year. It is the park I know the least.
