Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Am I the only guy in here? I get a hoot when I see people stressing over what they're going to pack in 100 days. The jokes probably on me as I will be the sucker stuck out in the cold rain in a t-shirt and shorts, but I still get a chuckle.

Tomorrow is our century mark...so excited to be under triple digits soon.

For the other MINNESOTA planners in this thread, are any of you fans of our beloved Vikings. They play on 12/1 (Thursday night) and my wife & I are planning on sneaking over to ESPN Club at The Boardwalk to watch the game. It would be fun to watch them crush the Cowboys with fellow fans if you're interested.

Another question popped into my head also: Do they provide bus transportation from park-to-park? Or do you need to take a bus to another location (a resort or the TTS) and then transfer to the appropriate park bus?

We took a bus from AK to HS last year.

My dad is a Vikings fan, my brother a Cowboys fan, and my husband is a Packer fan. I just stick with the Hawkeyes. ;)

Only 99 days until we head to Disney. We are at the 100 day mark for our free dining/parks part of the trip. I suppose it's time for me to figure out our FP plan, set up our Magical Express and fine tune my ADRS. I know they aren't exactly what I wanted but I was happy to grab what I could. I have to say, I am really disappointed about the electrical parade. We had just ordered the Disney vacation planning dvd a few weeks back and watched it. When they showed the parade, I commented how that was something I enjoyed watching in the evening, then I find out they are cancelling it. We aren't spending extra $ for the Christmas party so I'm a bit disappointed. Can't believe I'm at 99 days already. I swear it was just yesterday that DH and I pulled an all-nighter to snag our free dining trip

Hello, fellow Minnesotan! If only my hubby was coming with me on this trip, he would probably jump at the chance to join you watching the game...but alas...it's my best Disney-buddy and I on a Girls Only trip...and while the Vikes are important, neither of us are the rabid fans my hubby, and it sounds like you, too, are. If we have to choose between the two, the Mouse will win out every time!! :)

I'm desperately searching for an H&V lunch on 11/28.....
If anyone has one they don't want I'd be extremely grateful!!:tinker:

99 days to go!!:flower1:

I can tell we're in that lull between the 180 mark and the 60-day mark. I've had alerts set at TP for 2 meals for weeks and have had no hits. I've had success with other meals prior to that, but it's been a major letdown to see nothing pop up now for so long. I'm sure that will change after people get their fastpasses set.

This year has been SO quiet with the res Finder vs last year for me. Too many people know about it now ;)

I hope something pops up for you! I had considered trying to move my 5pm H&V on the 28th earlier in hopes of doing the SW dessert party but DHs truck isn't doing well again and needed more repairs so that's out. Being an adult sucks. Haha

Last trip we brought a whole medium sized suitcase FULL of snacks. And then ordered from a grocery delivery for stuff like yogurt, bread, PB and J stuff, drinks and fruit. I way overestimated the food situation. WAY. We were so full from the dining plan food we hardly touched any of the other food. It was so funny and also wasteful haha.

This trip I'm planning on using Amazon to deliver some non refrigerated drinks, breakfast things like pop tarts, granola bars and yogurt/applesauce pouches.

This is also on my mind. We aren't on the dining plan (you may recall I have no ADRs yet! haha), and we have a 1-bedroom villa so a full kitchen at our disposal. We splurged more than needed on the room choice! But I'm debating how much to assume we will eat in the room and how much we will eat out. Right now I'm thinking of just cooking breakfasts because I'm not feeling the idea of a sit-down breakfast and I'm not a fan of grabbing some baked goods for breakfast. Then have some snacks available, but not planning any full meals in the room. Who wants to cook while on vacation?

This all effects my packing and my grocery order plans. We should have plenty of room in the bags to fit in some snacks that do not pose a hazard of opening and ruining other items.

We didn't do the dining plan last year and aren't doing it again this year. We flew SW. I took 2 suitcases for clothes for 2 adults and 1 child. I had DD suitcase full of snacks and stuffed animals that I bought ahead of time to give to her. JCP Penny had plushes on sale around Halloween. That saved a ton of money in the parks and she was super excited to have new friends. I also took a zip up cooler with pre packaged meals as our 3rd checked bag. I did pre packaged meals in food saver bags that I vacuum sealed and froze. They were still frozen when we got to our hotel and had more than enough room in the room refrigerator for them. I ordered fresh produce/milk/etc from grocery delivery service. I am slightly OCD so brought enough meals based off our ADR. We asked to have a microwave in our room which helped tremendously.

That's such a neat idea to take frozen pre-packaged meals in a checked bag/cooler. I don't think that will work for me because we are going to be staying at a hotel at airport the first night (arriving at MCO at 8:00pm) and then going to a hotel at Universal Studios for 2 nights, until finally transferring over to the BWV at Disney. I don't know if I could transport the food that many times and rely on each room having freezer space, plus my luggage will likely just be dropped off at both the US hotel and the WDW hotel and left at luggage services until our room is ready and we come back from the parks. But I'm definitely going to keep that in mind for future trips. Tacos are one of my favorite foods and I always have a good stash of prepared taco meat in foodsaver bags in my freezer at home.

Right?? Truck needed alignment and new tires, my jeep is next up for the same, two new booster seats, hockey and baseball....

I am a lukewarm Vikings fan... still grumpy about the new stadium (which has been messing up my side of downtown for a couple years now). We will be at Candlelight Processional on 12/1 - so cheer halfheartedly for us!

I only wear sneakers. I admire the people that can wear flip flops all day but my feet kill even with comfy sneaks! I always pack 2 pairs in case one pair gets wet. Crocs would definitely work for your one son who will wear them :)
My feet actually feel BETTER in my TEVA Mush flops than in sneakers!
