Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

We will be at MK on Friday for EMH too! :) I just have to make MK our last park, so that wasn't as negotioable
We will be at MK on Friday 12/2 as well. And we are trying Epcot on Thurs 12/1 too. I have avoided EMHs before, but just couldn't get the schedule to work out otherwise... so we will focus on getting the essentials done early (depending on ability to FP the new Frozen ride!) and hop somewhere else as needed.

Have you used the touring plans reservation finder? Highly recommend! You don't have to have a paid subscription to use it and it will text you if something you set up an alert for becomes available. I've used it in the past and was very successful with it. I see a lot of people on this board have too.
oo...thanks Meeko, for the reminder. Unfortunately, when I went into TP to set up a search, it will allow for the search to start at 180 days from the date you are searching for, not from your arrival at resort...(if there is a way to change that, I don't know how to do it)....so I did set it up, but I'll still have to keep manually checking until the search kicks in...

My ADR day is tomorrow!!!

So of course I had to flip some things around today. ;)

We're back to doing MK on Sunday, December 4 (had switched it to AK).

Here's what we're hoping for:

11/28 - Arrival day! :D
11/29 - MK + MVMCP (if we can afford it)
---No ADR's this day unless we do a late breakfast at CP
11/30 - Epcot (hop to MK for Wishes if MVMCP doesn't work out)
--- Garden Grill breakfast (last seating, hopefully)
12/1 - DHS
--- Boma breakfast around 10:00
--- Minnie's Holiday Dine at H & V around 5 if possible (otherwise do that breakfast at CP on day 1)
12/2 - AK
--- Sanaa @ 5
12/3 - Break day + DHS (myself & the 2 teens might rope drop DHS followed by whatever)
--- No ADR's
12/4 - MK (MVMCP that we won't attend)
--- PPO Crystal Palace (or last seating of breakfast if PPO is unavailable)
--- Whispering Canyon around 6:30 pm
12/5 - Epcot
--- Captain's Grille breakfast (late seating, around 11)
--- Via Napoli or Tutto Italia
12/6 - AK
--- PPO Tusker House
12/7 - Leave

Rock on with that 2nd BOG Breakfast - if I could get my DH on board I would do it every MK morning because it makes it SO nice and calm. Enjoy it, and order as much or as little as you want.

:-)

Thanks. We didn't do it last year so I really wanted to try for one this year. When they were available both our MK non EMH days I grabbed them. Haven't broke the news to DH yet. I promised him a more laid back trip this year. Haha. :rolleyes1

Is anyone else going to brave HS on 11/27 even though it's a "red" day with EMH in the AM? I have no idea how early to get to the park, but early signups for JTA then a short wait on RnR is really my only goal that morning before we hit the other rides with FP. I figure if it gets insanely crowded by afternoon we will leave, then come back for dinner at H&V and stay for fireworks. We don't care to see Fantasmic again, so extra bonus if the masses go there and we can ride things again with short waits.

Last trip we avoided all EMH parks, so I'm sorta nervous about this one.

We are going to brave HS on 11/26. Pretty sure every park will be a red day then. Haha. But same basic plan. Use FP then Minnie's H&V but we are doing the F! Package so I don't have to worry about seating there. I think if u go in with low expectations u will be fine.

I'm glad you got the restaurants you wanted, hopefully you can improve the times. I'm in a similar boat, I want to bump my Ohana up just a smidge - I got 8:10 p.m. for dinner on a party night, but I was hoping to catch the water parade after dinner, and that should start at 9, right? So I need to get in a bit earlier, I think. What time did you get for BBB? We were on right away too and had to wait on hold - I got 8:20 a.m. Last time we got 8:05 and we had time to do pictures after and were still first at the rope, I wonder if I skip the pictures this time if we should have enough time.

I didn't get Akershus PPO but I think I'm coming to terms with it - honestly it was going to make my day super stressful, with me and 2 kids getting to Epcot really early, trying to navigate a buffet (husband is taking ODS to Universal that day) and still try to get out in time to get in line for A&E. Even if we got in at 8 that was probably not going to happen. So I went with plan B - late lunch CRT. Much easier for them to bring the food to me, solves the problem of the extra TS credits with DH and ODS being gone all day, and we don’t have to rush that morning.

I scheduled her BBB on 11/27 so we got it at 10:25. I'm sure if I had tried later in the week I may have gotten a better time. I really wasn't worried if it was PP, just wanted it earlier in the day since we are going to eat that evening at 1900 Park Fare and are celebrating her birthday.

We must have been on hold at the same time - I was originally shooting for 11/27 and that's around the time they initially gave me. :) I ended up doing 12/1 instead. If I hadn't been able to get a PPO, I would have done it at about 10:30-11, too. Late enough to take advantage of the low rope-drop crowds, but early enough that she still gets to enjoy it all day. That sounds so special for your daughter's birthday! :)

I need help choosing our schedule! I booked so many ADRs this morning that I end up with 6 different schedule options to choose from. I want to drop some of these extra ADRs and narrow it down but my head is swimming with the possibilities. This is a super long post, sorry, but if anyone has a chance to glance through and has any opinions on which one or two sound best I'd love some feedback!

Saturday 11/26-Drive from NC to FL and check in to a hotel within 1 hr of Disney

Sunday 11/27-check-out of temp hotel, drive to Contempory, drop off luggage (assuming room isn't ready), walk to MK, then back to CR to settle in when room is ready. Didn't book any TS for this day assuming we will want the freedom to bounce around checking out hotel, MK and get settled. So the itinerary options all begin with Monday, assuming Sunday will remain the same no matter which itinerary we decide on.

Some concerns I have and the reason for so many options: Is booking 2 of our 5 TS meals at H&V overkill (even though one is Disney Jr and one is the Holiday dinner)? Do we want a fun ADR the morning of check-out to end the trip or would it be better to just have a last few hours at MK unencumbered by ADR? Do we throw in a meal that DH and I might enjoy more than character buffets (Sci-Fi or Chefs de France) or just focus on kid-focused ADRs since they're picky eaters and the meals are more for enjoyment value as far as they are concerned? If you read this whole thing, go get yourself a cookie, you deserve it!

You have a lot to think about. This trip we are doing both H&V Disney Junior and Minnie's. I really didn't want to eat there twice BUT I am picking characters over food quality. We did eat there last year and had no complaints I would just prefer some variety however with boys who will be 4 and 2 you do what you have to do. We are going all out kids meals. Our non character meals are WC and Trex. One day I will eat fancy again and be sad my boys don't squeal over Mickey Mouse.

If you had a 9:40am ADR at BOG on a day when it's not early EMH at MK, what one attraction would you try to hit/FP+ for right at 9? With a 3.5 and 5 year old...

Hi, has anyone noticed the change in the dining service credits accepted at restaurants for 2017? For example, Splitsville will be only a deluxe dining credit.

We are in the same boat, I would love some fancy restaurants, but can't give up the excitement of my lil guy seeing the characters :)

My youngest was leery of characters and my oldest was fine dining with them but really could have cared less either way haha. I went to Disney many times as a kid but stayed with my local grandparents and brought PB&J into the parks, never ate at the restaurants. I am pretty bummed my kids weren't all about the characters!

If anyone has a Rose & Crown late dinner on Tues 11/29 or Thurs 12/1 that you are going to release, please Private Message me before you release it. THanks!

I'll keep an eye out during my endless playing around with the app!

Is anyone else going to brave HS on 11/27 even though it's a "red" day with EMH in the AM?

How seriously do people using crowd calendars regard the 'red' days. I slotted Epcot in for Friday 12/2 but it's red even though it's not an EMH park that day...is that a mistake? I'm starting to doubt everything! Panic!
