Week after Thanksgiving?

I noticed that on http://www.dadsguidetowdw.com/best-weeks-to-visit-walt-disney-world-in-2018.html

He mentions that the week after Thanksgiving last year was scary busy so he is predicting the week after now. Does anyone recall if the week after Thanksgiving was really that bad? Any details or thoughts as to why?

we are going that week i checked wdw resorts last week all but 3 were all booked so yes i think it will be busy

I really don't put much stock into anything his website says anymore. I used to enjoy his content but I honestly thinks it's becoming one of the worst out there, and the click-bait, misleading emails and Facebook posts are just the worst! The fact he still claims he can predict crowds when the crowds have shown themselves to be unpredictable is also irritating and misleading. I'm going that week. I think it will be busy, but I think it's always busy, nothing to worry about.

I think you have to plan for it to be busy and then hope for the best -- be pleasantly surprised if it's not! As someone else said, the crowds have become very difficult to predict.

We were there the week after Thanksgiving last year and I never thought it was scary busy. We had been the previous 2 years in September and honestly it didn't feel much different. It was busy but with a good touring plan you will be fine.

I was there around that time last year and am going back this year. I didn't find it bad at all, but I was there for the tail end of it.
Crowds are so difficult to predict so I say plan as best you can and hope for the best!

We go that week quite regularly. It's a great week crowd-wise to go. It's a big DVC week I've been told due to the season. Definitely better crowds than Thanksgiving week! This year we are checking in the weekend before Thanksgiving and out halfway through the week after to utilize free dining, and also get a few days of the lower crowds the week after. No worries!

I've read that Disney pretty much does what it has to do to sell out resorts (room discounts, free dining as needed) so they are almost always full. The variable crowd factor is how many offsite guests you have.

We were there part of that week last year and I thought it as fine. We usually go spring break time so that week after thanksgiving was much less busy!

That week is included with free dining this year. It will be crowded. We are going that week, but we have an 8 day stay; so, I'm not really worried.

There are very few 'slow times' at WDW anymore, IMO. This is a busier week than it used to be, but it should be as good a time as most. We are going during that week. so obviously we think that it will be OK.

There are very few rooms for most of Nov and Dec, and what is still available is mostly deluxe. Disney has achieved their goal of filling their rooms.
