DH has a rotating schedule that we have NO control over so we have to plan our trips around his weeks off. This year his week off falls the week after Thanksgiving so we're planning our trip for that week. We went the week BEFORE Thanksgiving week last year and it was fantastic.

If anyone can give me any information as to what to possibly expect, I'd appreciate it!

At this point, we really don't know a lot about the calendar in late-November/early-December. Based on the past few years, Candlelight Processional should be happening the first weekend in December. This primarily only impacts DL, but it does tie up Main Street quite a bit. I think there was also a big convention in early December last year that impacted crowds, but I haven't see it on the Anaheim Convention Center calendar for 2015 (yet). There is supposed to be some "new" holiday decor this year, which should be fun to see!

When you say you went the week before Thanksgiving in 2014, do you mean the full week before (i.e., 11/16-22/14) or the week that included Thanksgiving (i.e., 11/23-29/14)? I ask because I went the full week before Thanksgiving and the weekdays were fine, but the weekends did seem to pick-up. There was the Avenger's Marathon (11/13-16/14), but I also felt the crowds really picked up on the following weekend as well (11/21-23/14). I actually think that is pretty common for that time of the year; the weekdays are pretty good, but the weekends are busy. When I've also gone in early-December and the weekdays have been manageable, but the weekends are very busy. It was similar in feel to the full week before Thanksgiving, but with perhaps slightly higher overall crowds.

There is no week after Thanksgiving in 2015. 2016 has a week after thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not a numerical date but a "last Thursday of the month" date, hence, the first week of December is the week that you will be visiting. As a result, there is a missing week of holidays to visit if you are one of the folks who philosophically reason "we don't celebrate until after Thanksgiving.

Of course there is a "week after Thanksgiving" - it happens every year. ;)

For 2015, Thanksgiving is 11/26 so the week "after" Thanksgiving would be 11/27 - 12/3 or dates to that effect.

The Holiday decor will be in place as well as the seasonal programs.

Enjoy! :)

Arriving 11/29 Leaving Dec 5. We'll have 4 day 1 park per day tickets and doing the back some time during the week.

with four tickets, one per day, is that a military option that you are choosing? I did the math and I understand $240 can be a serious chunk of change. So when disneyland opens early to MM, and then an hour later all ropes drop, ROA can be very manageable the first week of December till about 11:00. Then that is when you will notice the holiday crush. Fantasyland is still going to be full with folks left over from early morning and with the folks waiting with you to enter the park. Wednesday mornings ( very off season like) were our best mornings during the holidays so I encourage that be a Disneyland day that starts with Fantasyland because you will have a level playing field. Parade is going to require 1.5 to 2 hours of waiting and castle prime fireworks will require some time also. However, ask if Fantasyland has different rules for the 60th. There are reports of an opening of the land ,however that is currently with the 5 min show. Maybe they are experimenting or the fireworks are just lackluster now. leaving the park will also be more cumbersome if using tram. DTD will be super crowded full of locals taking in the holiday magic.

We get our tickets from way.com and not hopping saves us about $25/ticket. We have to buy 5 tickets so this adds up! We're going to do a beach day in there somewhere too, and we tend to skip MM only because we've found that it's SO crowded. We go to DL on the days that resort guests get in early to DCA and visa versa.

good....good to know. So Wednesday in Disneyland will be a fantastic morning to explore the age range of the children. Monday will have some left over folks from the family thanksgiving gatherings so don't be discouraged that the whole week will be that crowded. Keep Wednesday as the goal.
