Weed California, need hotel, options limited, any to avoid?

We are taking the In-Laws on a 9 day road trip to the redwoods. First nights stop is in Weed. Options are limited, I am actually considering the Motel 6 - any recommendations? Any advice on "don't go there" since this will be the first of 8 nights, I don't want the In-Laws laying awake in a cruddy motel with the "oh great, this should be a fun trip " thoughts running thru their heads

Would like to keep it under $100 per room since I need 2 rooms

i would stay away from the motel 6's then. if you dont want a crudy room.
