I am so happy that I just have to share. I have been sick with a persistant infection in my leg since late July. I thought that it was gone before our vacation. I really, really, really wanted to believe the second opinion doc who said the infection was gone, but by the time we got home from our trip, I was in pain and the symptoms were getting worse again. You can even see the leg getting redder and redder as the days passed in the pictures from our trip. I went back to my original infectious disease doctor and he confirmed that I was indeed not over being sick yet.
I had a PICC line placed in my arm about 3 weeks ago. I took 3 days of an antibiotic that I just could not function on, so they changed me over to another drug that I had tolerated well back when I was initially hospitalized back in July. Well, I went back today and on Wednesday, I get the PICC line out and I will be done with the IV meds!

I can not tell you just how much better that I finally am feeling. For the first time in months, my leg doesn't hurt and I have energy! I have so much to be thankful for this Christmas. Despite the loses of one of our cats and one of our dogs and all of the drama that has surrounded our lives over the past 6 months, it looks like we will have a peaceful Christmas. I can't wait! Maggie
