POLL:
OK, today I have to go to a wedding. I would rather not go, but it's one of those situational ethics things where the reprocusions of not going outway the inconvenience of having to go. Anyway, it got me thinking about how many weddings I've attended in my life versus how many funerals (yeah, I know gloomy thought, but like I said I really don't feel like going. :rotfl: )

I believe I've been to more weddings, although not by much. Probably it's ony a couple more weddings than funerals.
So what about you? Have you been to more weddings or funerals. I imagine that this will be a very one-sided poll, but then again, you never really know

As you get older you'll find yourself going to a lot more funerals mainly because almost everyone has a funeral/viewing and a lot of people don't have big weddings. Another factor is all those couples that you went to one wedding for will hopefully be having separate funerals!

Plus throw in a few viewings for friends parents who of course you didn't go to the wedding and they quickly out number the weddings.

The consolation is that we don't really have to bring gifts to funerals! :thumbsup2

Right now it might be even. I haven't been to a wedding in years, actually can't even remember the last time I went to one. However, I don't always go to funerals usually only if its a relative or a really close friend. I do try to go to the funeral home to see the person. Unfortuneatly I do remember the last funeral it was about 3 weeks ago for dh's best friend. :(

I'm sure more weddings, but not many really. I've been fortunate enough to not have attended (or needed to attend) many funerals. My four grandparents, a great aunt, and DH's friend are the only big ones. I honestly think there were only two other funerals--ever. And I've only attended maybe 15 weddings.

I've been to many more weddings than funerals thank goodness, except for the last year or two. All of a sudden it seems that people in my family are dying off all at once.

The last wedding I attended was 1997 and now she's divorced. Lately, I'm pretty skeptical. :confused3

Funerals - Many more than I care to remember. A few of my good friends to cancer at a young age.

More weddings so far I have only been to two funerals. I went to my cousin's wedding a few weeks ago.

I've been to a lot more weddings, but only because I'm a musician and played for them. I really don't like wedding or funerals and prefer not to go to either if I can avoid them.

Perhaps a morbid observation... a lot of people who get married end up getting a divorce somewhere down the road while everyone who dies tends to stay dead forever and never even took a vow to do so.

All things considered, I do not want to have a funeral of any kind. My wife is okay with that, but my kids are not. Still, I think it should be my choice.

I'm younger (27) and have been very forunate, so I have been to more wedding. DF and I are actually on are way to one soon that I dont' want to go to.

It's a huge wedding foe a second cousin that I don't even talk to. And its a fancier wedding so I had to spend $200 on a dress (I searched two malls for 5 hours and it was all I could find). Sorry to vent there.

It seems I'm still young enough that I've gone to more weddings. :)

10 years from now, it may be different story.

I avoid going to weddings in any way possible-I can't stand them so I have been to more funerals than wedding for sure!

I think I have been to more funerals but I try to avoid both of them if I can.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought the question was going to be "Which do you like better--funerals or weddings?" I thought, "Wow, do we really need a poll to figure out which is better?!" :lmao:

I've never been to a funeral and have only been to a handful of weddings.

Somehow I've made it 27 years and never gone to a funeral. :confused3

If you are talking over all, its about the same.

If you are talking about last year, then more funerals.

I'm the lone "other" voter. It depends on what stage of life you're in - 20's &30's, or 50's & 60's, etc. As we get older, the ratio seems to change.

Last year we had 8 funerals and 1 wedding. (Sounds like a new movie title!)

I've been to more Weddings. When I counted it seemed like it was for the same people over & over :rotfl:

I've been to far more funerals. I'm only in my early 30's, so I imagine as time goes by there will be an even greater number of funerals.

Wow, that's kind of a depressing thought.
