There are so many songs and so many places to add them in throughout the ceremony. Does anybody have any suggestions or I would love to know what everyone else chose for their wedding?

It's getting down to the wire now as we only have about 6 weeks left before the BIG day!!

Any help is always appreciated.

You should ask your musician or DJ what they have to play during the ceremony. I'm going pretty traditional for the ceremony... "here comes the bride" and the "wedding march" as the recessional.

During the reception you can get really creative and pick songs that you and your fiance both love.

My fiance and I have chosen to have a Spanish guitarist playing during the reception, and we're having our first dance to, "Reflecting Light" by Sam Phillips. This song has special meaning to us, and reminds us of how we met... on a Gilmore Girls Message board. ...don't laugh.

Anyway, good luck with your song choices!

For the bride processional I like Canon in D and for the unity candle I love Promise from Disney's Millinium celebration CD.

We re gonna use an acoustic version of Foo Fighters Everlong probably for first dance, our song which is by a band called Silverchair but don't know at what point that ll be & definatly When You Wish Upon A Star instrumental (probably during unity candle lighting). Think most people say you need 4/5 songs for ceremony etc so we re still missing a couple

I was just coming on here to ask if it'd be lame to use "There's a Great big Beautiful Tomorrow" as a song Lol.

This is what we have come up with so far but it is still under construction :goodvibes

Prelude:
Various classical songs mostly Mozart and Vivaldi and some classic Disney Love songs

Procession (Groomsmen/Dan/rev):
Someday my Prince will come or Ode to Joy

Mothers lighting Unity Candle;
Circle of Life

Procession (bridal party):
Hornpipe from the water music

Bridal Procession:
Chiming of the hour/ Pachelbel’s Canon in D

Unity Candle:
A whole new world

Recessional:
edit- possibly when you wish upon a star

Cocktail Hour:
Various Jazz songs (Jazz trio)

Family and Bridal Party Entrance:
Hakuna Matata????

Our Entrance:
Beautiful day- U2??????

First Dance:
At Last- Etta James

Dinner Music:
Be our Guest during sorbet/Various Jazz songs

Cake Cutting:
How sweet it is to be loved by you- Marvin Gaye or The Sweetest thing- U2

Bouquet Toss:
Man I feel like a woman- Shania Twain

Garter Toss:
She's Got legs ZZ top

Last Dance:
The best is yet to come - Tony Bennett

No, I think lots of people have talked about it.

I think the ceremony music is all about tradition with a mix of individuality (i.e. canon in d for the processional and when I'm 64 by the beatles for the recessional). Whistle while you work for the groomsmen, and hakuna matatah (sorry about the spelling) for the ring bearer.

For the reception I think it's all about who you two are...we're using Marc Cohen's True Companion as our first dance. Someone on here started the thread about a father/daughter dance using the song "I Loved you First," I heard it and I was a mess...!!! It's all up to you! Have fun with it and congratulation on being 6 weeks away!!!

I'm getting very confused, what happens with the candle unity?
Also in our Virgin pack it says we can't have our own music. Is this just for the ceramony of for the reception too?

Help.

This is for the ceremony only. We pretty much know what songs we want for the cake cutting reception (we are having an intimate). It just seems there are so many choices (as with everything else).

God i think we 'd be devastated if we couldn't pick our own music :furious: . Id look more in to that if i were you as surely that can't be right :sad2: . I love our choices so far, we really wanted songs that were very personal to us. We re both massive rock fans so using 2 songs by rock bands just mellow versions is our way of really making the whole ceremony very unique to us.

I'm yet to here of anyone using the same songs as us :woohoo:, is any one else out there choosing songs that are a bit out of the ordinary??

We're having lets stay together by al green as our first dance. Does anyone know how many we can pick for the cake reception? We are going for the traditional music for the ceremony.

I want traditional for the ceramony too. For the reception I want meaningful songs and personal to us too.

This was our list for our vow renewal:
Minister & Groom - Beauty & the Beast

Mother of the Groom
Sister of the Bride
Maid of Honor
Ring Bearer - all walked in to A Dream is Wish Your Heart Makes
(Mother/Sister lit candles when they walked down the aisle)

I walked in to When You Wish Upon a Start

We lit the unity candle with the kids to Circle of LIfe

My father-in-law sang When I Fall in Love which he had also sang at our original wedding.

Our recessional was Hakuna Matata

At our cake-cutting reception:

Mickey & Minnie came in to the Mickey Mouse March

Cake Cutting - Be Our Guest

First Dance - Beautiful from the Jim Brickman CD

Father/Daugher Dance - Butterfly Kisses/I] by Jim Carlisle

Mother/Son Dance - Let Them be Little

Final Dance - Wonderful Tonight - which was our 1st dance at our original wedding

This may mean that you would have to bring original CD's, not a mix you burned yourself (for copyright issues). This is what I was told, although I know other brides have been told differently. You might want to ask your coordinator to clarify this for you.

Here are the songs we used for our intimate wedding:

“Can you feel the love tonight” (Groom/Officiant Processional)
“Once upon a dream” (Bride Processional)
“Zip A Dee Doo Dah" (Recessional)

Then we asked for a mix of Disney songs to be played during the champagne/cake cutting.

one word. ELVIS

Jim Brickman came out with a Disney CD last year and taped the PBS DVD special at the Magic Kingdom. One of the songs was an original called "Beautiful" and Wayne Brady sang it. During the song on the DVD, Prince Charming and Cinderella came out and danced, I knew right then that is what I wanted to have our first dance be. I am sure I-tunes has it under Jim Brickman. It's an awesome "disney-esque" song.

Yep, yep, yep!!! I fell in love with that song also and we used it for our dance at our vow renewal. DH wanted to use the song we had used at our original wedding but went along with my choice. He ended up liking the song a lot as well.

not really thought too much about music yet, but I do rather fancy 'Still the One' by Shania Twain for our VR

:grouphug: our first dance is going to be "ALL THE WAY" By Frank Sinatra there is also a version with Frank sinatra and Celine Dion.
