Wedding Song

CONGRATS!!!
I Cross My Heart
George Strait

I cross my heart

Our love is unconditional
We knew it from the start
I can see it in your eyes
You can feel it from my heart>from here on after
Let’s stay the way we are right now
And share all the love and laughter
That a lifetime will allow

Chorus:
I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I’ve got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You’ll never find
A love as true as mine

You will always be the miracle
That makes my life complete
And as long as there’s still breath in me
I’ll make yours just as sweet
As we look into the future
It’s as far as we can see
So let’s make each tomorrow
Be the best that it can be

Chorus

And if along the way we find a day
It starts to storm
You’ve got the promise of my love
To keep you warm

This was our wedding song too :goodvibes

We had "From this Moment"...Shania Twain sings it...there is a verision with just her or one with her and someone else (can't remember the guy right now, sorry) as a duet...we had the duet version played...

We were married in the 80's so our first dance was to Almost Paradise off the Footloose sound track

Our first dance was "Can I have this dance for the rest of my life" by Anne Murray. I have to think what our last dance was...it's been 15 years and it was not nearly as well known.

Found it! (God bless the man who invented Google!)

Our last song was All My Life by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville

Am I really here in your arms
This is just like I dreamed it would be
I feel like we're frozen in time
And you're the only one I can see

Hey, I've looked all my life for you
Now you're here
Hey, I'll spend all my life with you
All my life

And I never really knew how to love
I just hope somehow I'd see
Oh I ask for a little help from above
Send an angel down to me

Hey, I've looked all my life for you
Now you're here
Hey, I'll spend all my life with you
All my life

I never thought that I could feel a love so tender
Never thought I could let those feelings show
But now my heart is on my sleeve
And this love will never leave
I know
I know

Hey, I've looked all my life for you
And now you're here now you're here
Hey, I'll spend all my life with you
All my life all my life

Hey, I've looked all my life for you
And now you're here now you're here
Hey, I'll spend all my life with you
All my life

Not many people had heard it at the time and we had a LOT of people come up to ask us about it after the wedding because they really loved the words.

Ours was Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks. We had met at a country line dance bar and our first dance was the El Paso to that song. It was 'different' as a first dance :confused3 , but worked for us! :cool1: ;)

I love it!
But now you got me singing the song all day!

We didn't have dancing at our reception, but picked songs for our ceremony that were meaningful to us and songs on our picture slideshow. Some of my faves include At Last, I Could Not Ask For More, I Do, Faithfully...

All My Life by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville. I wouldn't use it though, since we're divorced now. Maybe the song is jinxed. :rotfl:

My brother got married last month and his wedding song was I'll Be by Edwin McCain (I think that's how you spell it). I thought that was really nice and different.

My sister's wedding song was Cross My Heart by George Strait.

My other sister's wedding song was Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks and someone else.

I'm not married, but I highly reccommend ANY song from my namesake's catalogue :teeth:

I have heard the Anne Murry song so many times as the first dance....

Mine, A long line of ove, by Michael Martin Murphy. But, we had a Jazz trio for the dance portion of the reception, so they threw a little jazz sound into the country soung, which made it really good.

Long Line of Love
Michael Martin Murphey

I Bought A Beautiful Diamond Ring
I offered it to the Sweetest Thing I Know She Said She Would Take It.
We Started Making Some Wedding Plans
She came To Me and She Took My Hand and said

Are You Sure We Can Make It

I Said My Grand dad's Still In Love with My Grandma

I Said My Dad Still Thinks My Moms the Sweetest Thing He Ever Saw

I Come From A Long Line of Love

When the Times Get Hard, I Don't Give Up

Forever Is In My Heart and In Your Blood

You See I Come From A Long Line of Love

Well the Years went by and we had A Son
Now He Thinks He Found Someone for Him
They're planning A Wedding
He Called Me up On the Phone Today
Just To See What I Had To Say to Him
Did I Think He Was Ready
I Said What His Grandfather Used To Say To Me-Its Been Handed Down For Ages It
Runs In Our Family

You Come From A Long Line Of Love
When The Times Get Hard, You Won't Give Up
Forever Is In Your Heart and In Your Blood
Son You Come From A Long Line of Love
We Both Come From A Long Line of Love.

We are using "All I ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera (actually a version from Sarah Brightman's CD) next month.

Congratulations and good luck. I hope your wedding day is perfect but if it's not it's okay. You'll still be married to the person you love at the end of the day and that's the most important thing.

My DS is getting married October 15th and he picked his wedding song which is "God Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts.

We had the same problem, we didn't have a song, and no songs really meant anything to us. We ended up using "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith (theme from Armageddon). We chose it because we met while working at the movies and it was a slightly more uptempo song. Plus the lyrics really are great for a wedding song.

Look up the lyrics to songs at Lyrics.com. You would be surprised that some songs you thing are LOVE songs, really aren't once you read the lyrics.

Got married 23 years ago and our song was "You Made Me Love You" after we saw Gonzo sing it on the Muppet show!

"Unforgettable" by Nat and Natalie Cole.

The embarrassing part is that I knew who sang it and I could hear the melody in my head, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the title!!! :earseek: I had to call my husband who chastised me for forgetting "Unforgettable." He also thought it wasn't his job to remember such things...that was under the wife's job description!

Congratulations!!! May your wedding day be everything you dreamed of and don't sweat the small stuff!!! My big fiasco for our wedding day was the limo never showed up...I rode in the photographer's car and we talk about it to this day!
