Wedding RSVP Website?

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I've been in here...just been SUPER busy with Christmas crap. Now it's all done. :) Plus, Disney FINALLY got me my wedding contract! YAY! All I have to do is sign it and send it off. We also sent off our deposit payment, too, to the Roots. So--it's ALL finally starting to feel real.

As a result of all these developments, we felt it would be more than safe to get our wedding invitations started. So, we actually went and had an appointment today and got them all set. We're not printing them yet, as my fiance and I need to proof them and make sure it has everything we want. As we were looking through them though, we realized we were missing two essential items: A "no kids" disclaimer for our Utah reception, and an RSVP as well!

So, I wanted to throw the question out there for everyone who has either had their Disney wedding, or are in the process and at least have the website...but the wedding website you get? Is there an area for an RSVP on there? Is there a way to have two SEPARATE RSVP lists? We are having the Disney wedding and only inviting about 25-30 people, tops. The RSVPs of who's coming could easily be verbally communicated to us. For our reception we're having in Utah for everyone else though--that's where we'll really need a better headcount so that we can know how much food to order and how many favors to make.

Is anyone aware of whether or not you can do that on the Disney wedding website they give you, or would you suggest setting up a SEPARATE wedding website for just the Utah reception guests? I know I can do a free one through theknot.com...

I'd ask Disney directly--but they are seriously the WORST communicators on the planet. I'd ask the question, and wouldn't get an answer until two weeks from now. ::rolleyes2

Thanks!

Tiffiny: I don't think Disney gives you a website anymore. I know they did away with the Facebook version, which I believe had a ton of issues. They haven't said anything to us about it, and we signed our contract several weeks ago.

We're using appycouple.com for our website. It's not free, but it is very user friendly and does have RSVP functionality...and you can have different events and different RSVP lists for each event. You can also set different security levels for different groups so that guest not invited to the wedding at Disney won't see those event details or be able to RSVP for those events...

There are a lot of free wedding website options out there, too. Good luck!

Thanks, Brooke! I ended up asking my consultant, and she confirmed what you said too--that they phased it out and have stopped offering it. Then, oddly enough, we actually FOUND a Disney wedding website service offered through Disney Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons. I'm not certain if we have the option because we set up our honeymoon registry account before the phase-out...or if it's just something that anyone can use...but we have it. I actually set up a free wedding website on ourwedding.com BEFORE finding the Disney one...but DF wanted us to use the Disney one because it went more with our theme.

It doesn't have a Facebook interface attached to it...so maybe it's just something offered through the honeymoon website...

Where did you get your countdown thingy to your wedding, Brooke? I want one! It's so cute!

Tiffiny

Hi Tiffiny: I got my countdown thingy :) at http://www.**************/

They have a variety of options. I know there are a couple other places that do them too, but I'm not sure of their names/links.

Good job on finding a website for free that you like and DF likes too!

Brooke

Hey Brooke!

Thank you!

So, I created a countdown thingy...but how do you post it into your posts each time? Do you post the link EVERY time, or is there a way to update our signature?

Thanks!

Tiffiny

Thank you to the OP for posting that link to the honeymoonwishes. My daughter is getting married April 2 at WP and reception at Ariels. When she originally signed the contract last April the Facebook wedding site was still in operation. But it never really worked. So many issues. My daughter just went and made another website out of frustration with weddingwire.com. But I don't believe there is an RSVP with that. Thanks again and congrats to you!!!!

Maria--

I'm glad my experience was of help. It seems silly to me that Disney got rid of their website. I had heard of problems with the Facebook interface (as you mentioned), and that's why I guess they phased it out. You'd think that for a company professionally doing weddings though--they would have a website. You're getting married at DISNEY. You want a Disney-themed site. And, in a case like mine where all we're asking for is stuff off the Disney Honeymoon registry--they have even more reason to have a functioning site. Get people to buy DISNEY stuff....and nothing else.

As you saw with mine (if you visited the link)--it's pretty simple. I think most people don't need any more than what's provided though, so I think it's fine. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that there's only one RSVP section, whereas there was another website I started building previous (on ourwedding.com, I think) that let me set up separate RSVPs for each of the wedding events. So, with ours, I just set up the RSVP for the Utah reception, since we'll have more people at that one than at Disney.

Good luck to your daughter! 2 months away is exciting!

We literally just made up an email address dedicated to rsvps with our name/wedding in the username... worked great.

You could check out the wedding website creators like TwoWed. They have features such as RSVPs, real-time tracking and online wedding invitation templates which will help you track and manage your guests easily.

Happy wedding planning! :)

I know that another good site is called appy couple.com. They have really awesome designs and also do digital rsvps as well. You can even control what people see as far as only seeing what events they are invited to and such. There is a one time hosting fee of $35, but I honk it is worth it.

I went a different route. I wanted my own domain name so I went with one of the hosting sites. I used godaddy.com which included a free domain name and their free web building software for $1 a month for one year - so I paid $12 for a year. I am somewhat technical but even for a non technical person, I found their software to be very user friendly and I could do just about everything with the exception of the countdown timer and RSVP form. I used free third party plug ins for both of those and they worked (and came out looking) great. The RSVP form includes an email notification when someone responds as well as a database to track all the responses.
