Hello everyone, I hope you're all settling in to the New Year nicely.

I've got an interesting question for you, I noticed in October that the Wedding Pavillion has a dock. Have any of you used the dock to make a big entrance by boat? Or big exit? Is this even allowed? I thought it would be cool for me and best man to arrive by boat (very James Bond!)

Thanks, speak to you all soon.

:cool1:

That would be a great idea!! I want to know whether anyone has done this too!!

Several people have done this. You would just need to pay for a boat to make the pickup/drop off (and the new Grand I is a lot more James Bond-esque than, say, a pontoon boat! :rotfl: )

As others have said, yes, it can be done but just to let you know that your WC will most likely try to talk you out of it. The peir is stationary (I think - could have that backwards) and so the use of it depends on weather, lake levels, etc. They usually can't tell if you would be able to use the boat until the day before or of the wedding.

We were/are looking at water transportation for everyone from WP to our reception and we were warned that they would probally require us to make (and pay for) alternative transportation just in case. I'm still trying to decide if I can handle that stress.....

That being said - I think it's a really cool idea :thumbsup2

Maybe that is only for the pontoons but I never had a problem when we had the Grand One in our beo. The only problem was getting it at 90 days but since it was for the morning and people mostly book it for Wishes she didn't think we would have a problem.

Do you have an actual planner yet? I see that you are still more than a year out. I think you will find an actual planner will have more information for you, sales managers mostly work with locations and contracts, not the little details. I would definitely double check and ask your planner when you get one.

Don't have a WP yet, and we're actually looking at having one of the MK Ferries take our guests from the WP to CR... so that might be why... plus we're looking at January :confused3

But perhaps there's hope??

Thanks!

Don't lose hope. Since you are considering an MK ferry I can see why that would be logistically harder. The dock there is much smaller than the actual ferry dock. It's a wonderful and unique idea, I hope it works out for you.

Have you been quoted a price yet? I think a ferry boat would be very unique and fun! I can understand the logistics problem though! A ferry is probably hard to dock!
