Wedding on DCL

I was curious if anyone had any wedding experiences. We are especially interested in couples that are grandparents, had a lot of family members on the cruise to share experiences or advice. We'll take advice from any other couples young or old also.

Last May, we were privileged to be invited to a DCL wedding. The couple had it at Sessions rather than on CC - a popular place to have nuptuals.

It was elegant, with all the trimmings including cake, champagne, live music (piano), flowers, ship's photographer. The Captain did a beautiful reading and it couldn't have been more lovely! After the ceremony, toasting, and cake - the couple went to various shipboard areas to have pictures taken.

I married on DCL 1 1/2 years ago. Our ceremony was held on Castaway Cay. It was absolutely beautiful. Please let me know if I can answer specific questions for you.

Oh, congrats! Can you tell us where exactly on CC the ceremony is held? I am assuming the ocean background at the pavilian near Cookies, but that's just a guess!

I am getting married in Castaway Cay on the Oct 9-16th cruise. I would love any information you guys have about the ceremony and hoopla.

My family and grandparents and my groom's family and grandmother are all coming along. We will also have about 4-8 friends on board too.

I was also married on CC July 4th. The ceremony is on a pier near the adult portion of the beach. The weather was very hot, which I took into consideration when picking my dress, but the men were pretty darn hot in their tuxes. My bridal bouquet was included and was red roses tied with ribbon, very elegant although they had others to choose from. The cake looked and tasted spectacular. We purchased a photography package. The photographer was great and we had tons of great photos to choose from, she took us all around the ship and beach. If you see somewhere you like, just tell them and they will take a picture. The ceremony itself is very nice. Live piano player, you pick the songs. Any other ?s, just ask! I have pictures I can email too if any one is interested.

I am not sure how many of the guests will get flowers - for the wedding we attended, the bride and I had red rose bouquets and the flower girl had rose petals to sprinkle about.

I was just reading through this thread and thinking... With all of the hoopla going on in Massachusetts, perhaps another DCL wedding could be in your future...
