Hi there,

Trying to find a nice & relatively quiet place to eat for dinner on the night of our wedding. Something for just DF & I that is semi fancy with a relaxing & romantic feel.

This will be our day:

-Waking up VERY early for MK photo shoot
-Will likely grab something quick for breakfast
-Ceremony at either 10:30am OR noon w/cake
-Luncheon at GF Garden View Lounge for a Grand Tea (tea sandwiches, pastries, the whole experience) likely either 1:30pm or 3pm
-Spend the day with family/friends likely at Epcot
-We definately want to stick around for Illuminations (even if we leave & come back)
-Staying at Wilderness Lodge that night

I'm assuming we'll be starving by then and will want to full meal (bread basket, appetizer, salad, meal, possibly dessert if they offer it for free!!)

I was thinking about staying local and dining at Artist's Point. What do you all think of that?
-Is the food good?
-Do they give you a bread basket?
-Hows the portion size?
-Is it relatively quiet?
-Are the chairs comfy?

We might be too tired to start venturing out too far and we are staying at WL that night.

DF eats just about everything and I am sorta picky. I love roasted/baked chicken dishes, pork dishes (that are relatively plain), scallops, cheese (but not cheese sauce), don't eat pasta or much red meat.

We are NOT interested in Victoria & Alberts (not our scene or our food preferences!!)

Anyone have any experience with Artist's Point? Have photos of the restaurant or meals you've ordered?

TIA! :goodvibes

I would wait until you have everything finalized (times/locations) before you decide on anything. To be honest, you may just want to order room service. Sounds like you could be quite tired.

I think Artist Point would be just the place for you that night! It's got wonderful food, a nice quiet atmosphere, and great service. Plus, the ability to just stroll there and back from your room at the WL will make it a perfect choice.

Go ahead and make the ADR - if you decide that evening that you're too tired to leave the room and would rather just order room service, you can easily cancel it.

I think that sounds very nice! It is a very quiet, nice restaurant and very convenient for you. You can have a romantic stroll down to the beach afterwards. Congratulations! Have a lovely wedding!:goodvibes

Artist Point is wonderful, and you will love the food and atmosphere. However, check the hours since it doesn't sound like you'd get over there much before 10 pm if you stay at Epcot for the fireworks. I just don't know how late the kitchen is open.

Have a wonderful wedding!~

We love Artist Point. It's a beautiful atmosphere, and when you make your ADR make sure you tell them it's your wedding day! Ask for a table by the window when you check in - gorgeous views.

DD always gets the porkchop, which is usually served on mac and cheese, though on the current menu it's listed w/ something else (potatoes or something, can't remember).

I usually get the filet, which is excellent. Their signature dish is the cedar plank salmon, which we've never had. The portobella soup is wonderful. Neither of us like mushrooms, but we LOVE this soup!! I seem to remember them having good bread, sourdoughish, with very good butter.

Enjoy! And congratulations. :lovestruc

It's only quiet and romantic if you go after 9 p.m. Since you'll be there late, you should be fine.

Whenever we've gone earlier than 9 p.m. the place has been packed with noisy families. Wilderness Lodge is a favorite for young families because it has the boat to MK but is cheaper than the monorail hotels. You really notice the noise it if you sit in the lobby, eat at Whisper Canyon Cafe or go to Artist Point before 9 p.m.

Artist Point was the highlight of our last family trip (we ate before 9 but it was my Dad not his granddaughters who was the loudest at the table!).

With high ceilings and a lodge feel, you do feel like you get away from all of the crowds. The service was great and the food was great.

I'm pretty big so a comfortable chair is pretty important for me, and these chairs were great.

Best wishes.
