My dream would be to have a Disney wedding, but I just can't afford it. Is there anywhere nearby to get married? Maybe a beach or something? We are defintely doing a Disneymoon, so we would just stay after that. thanks! I have been to WDW tons of times, but never had to think about all this stuff! Any and all help would be appreciated. We would like to get married in early June or any time in July or August (hot, I know, but we are ineducation).

I am getting married at the Swan and Dolphin Resort. It's cheaper than Disney and you are still on property. The cost for the basic package is $2200, this includes officiant, cake, champagne, location, brass bridal arch, boutonniere, bouquet, and a musician of your choice. If you do not want some of these elements they will take them out of the total cost. My wedding right now is $1600. They have 2 locations. One is under the palm trees, the other is next to a swan fountain. They do have an alternate location available on their beach, which is what I am doing. This location is by request only. If you pm me your email address I could send you the basic package information.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sandy, let me know how that place works out. I would like to do the beach. The cheaper the wedding costs, the more money I have to spend at Disney!

Check out wwwparadisecoveorlandodotcom for weddings on the beach and right across from Disney!! Were were married there a year and a half ago and loved it. DH arrived via a jet ski!! Having been a former catering and convention services manager for Disney I figured this was my way to have a great weding close to Disney so friends and family could still enjoy the parks!! Let me know if you need help with local vendors or a coordiantor. I have recently relocated to Nashville but still have tons of contacts in the orlando area!!

I will definetly let you know so far they have been very nice and have gone out of their way to help us in any way. They have also gave us several extras at no charge. Example: additional photos.

You might drop a note to scarlett873, she and her DH had a wedding at a chapel near disney and then disneymooned. I know they did it on a fabulous budget. :wizard:

We got married at Cypress Grove, we had our wedding at the romantic lakefront gazebo, they also have a rose garden and another setting in the grounds.

It really is beautiful there, very peaceful and quiet, it was perfect, everything we wanted, after the wedding we went inside with our guests and cut the cake and drank champagne we then stayed there for another hour and had a mini reception.

Have you looked into the getting married at the Swan & Dolphin? Weddings there aren't done through DFTW, and can be significantly cheaper. I don't think they have a beach, but they do have an outdoor terrace.

hm- Yes, someone mentioned it and I will look into it. Where is the pic in your sig taken?

We're getting married Oct. 22 in Melbourne, on the beach. We're using Rev. Erica Nash, http://trinitychapelweddings.com/

I absolutely adore her and she has been so helpful and wonderful to work with. She has went out of her way to make me comfortable and made the whole planning from 4 states away a breeze. I feel like I've known her forever.

Hey disneygirl!
Do you have a planning journal going here? I am very curious...I love that you can customize at the Swan & Dolphin. I hated the thought of spending so much money for an Escape package thru Disney when I really want to do something small and simple (nice though but simple)...if I decide to go the Disney route. I was so discouraged but have found some new enthusiasm after reading so many other ideas and locations.

No, I don't have one on my swan wedding, I did start one on the sea breeze point wedding I was going to do. It's on my many things to do list. I can try to answer any questions you might have. I am loving the planning for the Swan. They go through Just Marry!, my planner has been really nice and answered all my questions rapidly.
I have also emailed a few people the planning kit for the Swan weddings. PM me if you would like more information or the planning kit.

I just got married on Sept. 28th at Leu Gardens in Orlando. Leu Gardens is owned by the city of Orlando. It's a beautiful location. You may want to read my trip report that is currently up on the boards titled "Jackie's Trip Report, married Sept. 28th". Leu Gardens will rent you the location (your choice of 4 different locations within the gardens) for $175.

If you have any questions, just let me know. Here are a few pics of the site we chose, which was called the trellis.

Take care
Jackie

Does anyone have the phone number to reserve a vow renewal at the Swan and Dolphin? Thanks
