Wedding Makeup?

Ok, I'm not a bride but I will be a bridesmaid in the spring and I happen to be watching one of those Sheer Cover infomercials the other night and I started thinking about what makeup everybody's used or is planning on using for the big day. I don't think I'll ever have more pictures taken of me than I will at this upcoming wedding (where many of the bride's friends are photographers) and I really don't want to be all shiny and gross. What are you doing to ensure that your face looks fantastic on the big day?

I got airbrushed by my makeup artist, so that prolly doesn't help, but if you use a primer underneath your foundation, that should cut down on shine.

I also sprayed Model in a Bottle on top to keep the makeup in place. I can't say that it was particularly mattifying, but my makeup did stay on for 18 hours!

Are you near a department store or Sephora so you could try out some different foundations to see how they wear? I dunno if they's got them Sephoras in Glasgow....

My girlfriends dragged me to a Bobbi Brown counter when we were dress and accessory shopping. I am not a makeup person and the woman did a great job with my preferences. I think I'll wear my makeup for official pictures and then take it off for the wedding/reception. I think I spent about 250$ on makeup.

I am not intending on hiring a makeup or hair person because well I don't care so much!

I think Carrie's suggestion about trying out a Sephora or other local store with lots of relatively high end makeup is a good suggestion.
