wedding 'lottery' - questions!

OK, so I'm prepared to go into the lottery for my date/time/location, as I know a TA in the UK has someone wanting the same as me, but how exactly does it work?
My details are pencilled in already, and I was told to phone back 8 months out (which is now less than a month away - April 11th), so when I phone back, first thing on the 11th - when will I know if I got it? Do they do it early in the day, or wait until the end of the day in case someone contacts them last minute? If they do the lottery during the day, when will they notify me - or will I have to phone them back again? (I'm calling from the UK!)

Umm Heidi never told me about a lottery.How the heck are you supposed to pick and plan a date if it isn't even definite.

so, if I phone on Wed 11th, they won't choose until the following Monday (16th)? And I probably won't know until a week later - Wed 18th? That's so annoying, as I have 7 people waiting to book flight's from the UK, Randy is still holding 2 days for me, and I can't book a video man
They haven't even asked me for a 2nd choice, so in the meantime I won't be in any other lottery, so might not even get ANY of my choices.

Its possible that there won't be a lottery if your date/time/location isn't a popular choice. But if you want a Saturday at 5 at the WP, it will most likely be a lottery. You still know 51 weeks out, its just not a full year from the date you would like

I know that a UK TA has a client with my exact same choice, that's why I've gone direct to Disney as I only recently found out that they weren't even going to give my choice to Disney as it's their policy for only one of their clients to be passed on to Disney. I suppose I as least get a chance in the lottery this way, whereas if I stayed with the TA I wouldn't. I guess I'm just gonna have to calm down a bit and WAIT!

Lynn5700: You only enter a lottery if there are other people who want your location at the same date and time. So they pro'lly didn't tell you about it because you have no competition!
