Did anyone's wedding location have to be moved due to rain? Can you describe your experience? Pictures?

Our intimate wedding was moved due to rain. We started the ceremony outside (Sunset Point at the Poly), but right after I walked down the aisle, the thunder and lightning started, so we had to move inside. I'm not sure what building we went into, but it wasn't the ceremonial house. As soon as the ceremony was over, so was the rain (so typical in Florida!).

I was pretty disappointed, b/c the area we were moved to was dark, and not very attractive for a wedding, but we made do, and were able to take some pics outside after the rain (there's one in my siggy).

The pics of the wedding did not turn out well on our personal camera, but I do have some that were taken afterwards in the ceremonial house.

Here is one from before the rain:

Sorry I don't know how to make them smaller, but you get the idea.

I originally booked Sunset Pointe for our October 2005 intimate. The week was beautiful, my wedding day started off nasty. It rained all morning, I worried a little bit and then decided that this was going to be the best day of my life, not matter what the weather.

Once the rain started, another disappointment.....my coordinator couldn't make it and so I was going to have a replacement. Things were getting worse and worse.......until I got a call from my 'new' coordinator; "Maxine" (who is a custom planner). She advised me that she may move our wedding due to the weather and would call me back about an hour before. Well, as the day went on, the weather cleared up but it was still wet and sticky. Maxine called me back and informed me that she was getting us moved to the 'Pavillion'! There was not another wedding going on there that day so, she booked it for us and had already had our guests being ushered to the relocation spot. I think because she was a custom planner, it probably had a LOT to do with why I was moved to the pavillion.

So, now you know why I felt really lucky. And hey, you never know what kind of magic might come your way!!

Congrats!

I was moved from Sea Breeze Point to the Attic due to rain. It wasn't technically raining yet but there was a bit of thinder and lightening. Rev. Jack made the final call...said he had been hit by lightening once didn't want to go through that again :rotfl2:

Do a seach for my former posts for pictures. If you can't find them, let me know.

Wow!! Lucky you!! :goodvibes That's making a bad situation into a good situation. Disney magic! :wizard: No one would even need to know! ;)

I was so scared it would rain, especially with our wedding being in June! We lucked out and it was the only day we were there that it didn't rain! :sunny:

Thank you! It is from House of Brides - but the experience at the store was just awful, and I found out after I had alreay paid for it that it was half-price on their website! If you have stores in your state, look but don't purchase!

Does anyone know where they move you if it rains at the Wedding Gazebo? Any pictures?

If you mean the Yacht Club our rain back up is the Convention center.

In Epcot, we were allowed to choose a rain location. Our location was the UK Rose Garden. We were lucky enough to get AAR for our backup. This may not be available for a backup if there is someone else using it. Your WP and SM can help you find a location.

Im just wondering if anyone has actually had to be moved to the convention center? and if so- what the pictures are like? And is it really as horrible as I imagine.
