wedding guest attire

I'm looking for a pair that don't bother me though because everyone says they are so comfy.

I own - easily - 8 pairs of these. yes, $20 a pop...but they are so comfortable. I wear these at WDW whenever I go...I could walk for DAYS in these things and never feel it.

I have a "teva line" on my feet...not the river sandal line - but the flip flop line - as i wear them so much.

Here in NYC a lot of the time it's 2 or 3 hours between the actual wedding and the receiption. Most people wear day clothing, skirt, dress, slacks things you would wear to work to the churck and then dress formal for the receiption.

What do you do? Run home and change?? Most receptions in our area of the country follow the ceremony. I can't imagine wearing one thing to the ceremony and dressing up for the reception.

Of course....the receptions are usually not right after the services around here...after the services the limo takes the bridal party out to a garden or where ever else they choose for the wedding pictures and then after that they go to the reception hall for more pictures..then the reception starts..anywhere from 2-4 hours after the service. What they do here is one relatives who lives close by will invite all the out of towners over to their house for drinks before the reception so they will have some place to hang out until it starts.

I have never heard of anyone changing between the ceremony and the reception. I've also never been to a wedding where the ceremony was less than 15miles from the reception hall and they're all formal affairs.

I can't imagine an evening wedding with flip flops, unless they were dressy ones and had a kitten heel. I usually wear heels that get kicked off midway through the reception. I'm not terribly graceful in heels, especially after a few cocktails
