wedding gift question

I have a friend who got married over the summer. We were away at the time and couldnt attend. I sent a nice shower gift for her wedding shower but didnt send anything for the wedding. I wanted to get something but I didnt know what. Money or a gift certificate somewhere?
I am going to see her and I dont know if no gift was completely inappropriate or what.
Not sure if it makes a difference but we are not extremely close or anything like that.
My Mom says that since we declined we dont need to give anything but I feel funny.

Take a lovely picture frame for them. Something rather ornate in silver, or whatever you think may best suit their tastes. It will acknowledge the wedding but not be too ostentatious.

I agree DVCOKW96. I pretty picture frame is always a nice wedding gift.
