Wedding Favors

We considered getting some of the chocolates through Disney Floral, but had to cut them for our budget. Instead we're getting Mickey pretzel silhouettes dipped in chocolate and rolled in candy pieces from the Candy Cauldron at Downtown Disney Westside. They are only $2.50 each and we are getting different candies on them.

We are using the Lenox Minnie and Mickey ear ornaments. I am going to have them personalized with everyone's name. We live near a Lenox warehouse and got them for a great price.

Question for you... have you figured out yet how you're going to personalize them? Specifically what type of pen or marker? Are you having someone do them for you?? Are you personalizing them in black or gold?

I just wrote on your other board but incase you don't see it I am planning on using a very fine black paint pen. I purchased a gold one but I do not like the way it looks. I tried a black fine sharpie and it writes easy and does not rub off but doesn't look "striking" enough. I am hoping to find a very fine black paint pen.

My other option is a red paint pen - not sure about that though. Our wedding color is red and as I purchased my ears from an Lenox Warehouse and they did not come in boxes or with the gold tassel on top. I am planning on purchasing a ribbon with our names on one side and our wedding date on the other in red and using this on top of the ornament. I though red might match as there is some red in the ornament. I'll let you know what happens and please keep me posted on yours.

Thanks Linda! I hate the look of the gold painty pen. It looks like a mud color. Eww! Maybe I should just go with black.

I vote black. I went on ebay and put in Mickey Lenox Ears and most are not personalized but if you scroll down a bit there is one that is personalized and it is in a very fine black.

We are giving out Mickey hats for our favors. We are going to have each guests name embroidered on the back and they will double as place cards. I know Victoria and a few other brides have done this as well and I thought it looked really cute.

I found the greatest favors today, thanks to a website posted earlier on this thread and then a very creative ebay search!

As I posted in my PJ,

we are now the soon-to-be-proud-owners of clear pens w/a "crystal" star at the top and these really cute pearlized white, cut & embossed in pink placecards/favor tags that say "Wishes Do Come True". Perfect for our (as of now) pink & gold "All of Our Wishes Have Come True"-themed VR. I just couldn't resist and my darling, darling DH said he wants me to "enjoy the "H E double toothpicks" out of the planning process". Isn't he the best? I think we'll be seeing all sorts of packages arriving on our doorstep over the next 11 months!

I think the pens will look so nice with those tags attached by a gold organza ribbon.

Oh, and I also found these and ordered some. I think they are so beautiful:

I got the Lenox ears ornaments at the Lenox warehouse in Cranbury. Unfortunately I got them last Thanksgiving -this is how long we have been talking about getting married. They started at 4.99 each and if you spent over 100.00 you got an additional 20% off. I started with a small amount but bought some other things so we got the discount. I kept going back every few days saying - I'll just get some some more if we we have extra people come - not know back then how large a wedding we were planning on.

I work in Hightstown and live in Kendall Park so I pass near there every day going to and from work.

By the time I purchased my last few it was at their after Christmas sale last year and I think I got these for about .79 each. They did not come in boxes so I will have to purchase boxes for them. I did go there around Thanksgiving this year to see if they had any Minnies left because I would like a few more of those and they were sold out so no need for you to fly in.

This is so funny because I too purchased a few of these last year in Cranbury for gifts. How funny that we shop in the same place. I absolutely love that warehouse! It was great that they were on sale too because so often the disney items dont get clearanced! Have fun with them, they are a great favor!

We arent doing Disney favors. We are both from Atlanta and wanted to do Georgia themed favors so we are having bags (maybe boxes) with a old fashioned bottle of Coca-Cola, peach jam from a GA farm, and GA peanuts. Thought it would be a fun favor.

I probably should have clarified what we are doing. I think the pens will be for our dessert party and the wine stoppers are for our welcome bags. We aren't doing favors at our reception. Instead, I want to do a donation to the "Make A Wish" Foundation. I think our guests will really appreciate it, and it ties in with our theme, too.

I love that idea! DF's family is all from Atlanta. I would add Georgia Peach Salsa (one of my FAVORITE Georgia products!!!) lol
