Hiyas!

I've been searching online for that *perfect* dress, and have pretty much found that what I've envisioned only exists in my mind. :cutie: Does anyone know of any websites that let you search by dress element?

I'm looking for a scoop (I think it's called portrait) neckline with a really poofy princessy skirt, and I can't find anything that isn't strapless. :sad2: I've got time to find it, and time to get over my I'mnotwearingstraplesscauseIhatemyarms thing, but I haven't seemed to find it yet.

Thanks, ladies! Dunno what we'd all do without you!

Well IDK of a site where you can search elements but is this the "kind" of dress you mean?

there's a dress like you are descriping it Unspoken Romance collection #F069607

Thanks! I hadn't been to that site yet!

:confused3 What kind of fabric is that!?

Do you like the fabric or just the look?

Maybe you can just add something underneath to make it bigger?!?

I believe it's chiffon, or something kind of like it...like what a veil would be made out if. I like the look that the fabric gives it. :) Kinda light and airy, ya know?

that is either tulle or organza. It looks like organza. My dress had an organza ballgown skirt...for the extra poufiness I wore a hoop skirt underneath...

Veils are made with tulle. Chiffon is more opaque (but still flowy!)

p.s. there used to be a great site called bridesave.com where you could search by element. I went to look for it the other day and they have gone out of business!

This is David's Bridal, style 9004...It has spaghetti straps.

And for the detail:

If you found the perfect dress but it was strapless you could always have straps added to it. My college roommate found her perfect wedding dress but it was strapless, so she had straps added to it and it was beautiful!!

Your dress is amazing.... so beautiful
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I loved my dress-Funny thing is, when I first joined theknot in like 2001 it was one of the dresses I had put into my notebook. My taste didn't change very much in about 4 years!

Another idea - Casablanca bridal will customize the dress - they make each dress to your measurements instead of just to a size, and they'll happily change any of the embroidery, colors, necklines and straps to fit your taste. Look at their site because I know they have the poofy tule skirt you want (that's what I have on my dress) and then you can pick out the top you want and they'll put the two together and make it to your exact measurements - it's a great thing!

disprincessatheart reminded me of a Casablanca dress that I absolutely loved...I just couldn't find a place to try it on (wasn't sure about the off-the-shoulder)...I was stuck on this one for a long time:

style 1684 from the Fall 2003 collection:

p.s. and defnitely, what I said about the hoop skirt for more poufiness...get it off eBay!

That's funny - great minds think alike - I was going to suggest Casablaca Bridal as well. They made my wedding gown and customized the back for me. Mine did not have the tulle skirt you are going for, but I'm sure they have that style. They are a great company - they don't make the dress until you order it and then it is made to your measurements, and they will make changes. The bridal boutique where I ordered mine told me that a girl chose a strapless Casablanca, but she's Mormon and had to add sleeves, and a high neck and they did it and it looked perfect. Check out their website to find a store that carries them.

I had off-the-shoulder and loved it :cloud9: It was really comfortable. I didn't want strapless, thought I wanted sleeves but they didn't look right on me, so off-the-shoulder was perfect!

Here you can see the train - I didn't plan on getting a long train but it was THE dress!

Here's a pic of the back. The original back was much lower, which I did not want, so they added material and it was like the gown was meant to look like that - it was perfect :)

cryssi - I went on bridesave all the time when I was planning our wedding, but they did go out of business just recently. It's a shame, that was a great site :sad2:

I went to that site every day...the reason I looked for it again is b/c my friend just got engaged and I wanted to show her mermaid dresses (the style she wants)... so sad...

cryssi - thank you :goodvibes My BFF took that picture. You can see our Disney photographer, Ty, in the bottom left corner adjusting my dress. She was the only non-family member at our wedding! She introduced me and DH and with my mom gone I needed her there, and she took some of my favorite pictures from our day!

I did the same thing! My BFF got engaged in September (her second marriage) and shd didn't want a traditional dress so I referred her to bridesave because of the variety of dresses but they're gone. I read a story about it on-line somewhere. It is a shame!

Bridesave went out of business? Darn! That was a great site. Many of my friends used it.

JandJ and WDWAurora-- your gowns are gorgeous!

Not to hijack the thread but, cryssi, I love your signature picture! TOT is my favorite thing at the parks! Did you get married/have your reception at MGM? I'd love to hear about it! :)
