Has anyone ever seen a bride wear her wedding dress at 'Ohana? My reason for this question is that we are getting married next week and our wedding dinner is at 'Ohana at 5pm on August 10th. Some people want her to wear the dress, while she feels she would feel a little uncomfortable wearing it then. Any comments?

I've never seen a bride in a dress at 'Ohanas, but that doesn't mean it's never happened.

She may be so elated about being married that she'll stay in the dress, but she also may still feel self conscious about it. Leave it up to her.

I saw a bride dressed in her dress and veil at the luau. She was a beautiful princess and she seemed to enjoy the extra attention. It's her special day (and yours) and she should do whateever she wants to do. You don't want her memories to be regretful.

Saw a bride in her dress at O'hana last in December. She was lovely and it really did not seem awkward. :thumbsup2

I think she should wear her dress to the restaurant, if she feels comfortable in it. Some people don't like the extra attention. But Ohanas really did it up for our rehearsal dinner; we wore the wedding ears, and the performer had us dance and she gave us each Hawaiian wedding leis. If your fiancee is comfortable with this kind of attention then she should definitely wear her dress.
Cheers!

We were there last October. We saw a bride in a beautiful white wedding gown along with a party of about 15 all in their wedding attire. It looked like great fun to me! :cool1:

When we were there last October the whole wedding party was all dressed up in the bar at Ohanas. They were all having a great time and seemed to be enjoying all the attention.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, Aug 10th is our anniversary as well! I think she should wear her dress. It's so cool to see the wedding parties around WDW!

We were seated next to a bride in a long white gown and a groom in his military dress uniform at Ohanas one trip. They were stuning. I think as long as the bride doesn't mind a few looks she should wear her gown. I mean, you only get to wear it once

The key thing I see in your post is *she* doesn't feel she will be comfortable in the dress. Her day. Her choices. Some people just aren't going to be comfortable in a public restaurant wearing a wedding dress.

On the other hand, if the bride doesn't have any issues wearing the dress in a public restaurant, but for some reason has a specific issue thinking it would be out of place at 'Ohana, then tell her to go right ahead.

I've seen brides here and there in WDW with their dresses and the mickey veils BUT I've never seen one at OHana. Thing of it is.... you wrote: " Some people want her to wear the dress".... BUT HERE COMES WHAT SHE WANTS.... ..."while she feels she would feel a little uncomfortable"....

It's the bride's day!!! .....and if she will feel even "a little uncomfortable", she shouldn't wear her dress.... Maybe you can purchase a pair of those mickey ears for him and her...I think the guy wears a top hat with ears and she has the white veil with ears. That can make it fun for all and she won't have to wear the dress or veil. All you have to do if you don't know where to get them is ask at your resort... I'm sure they will help you out...

Wear it and enjoy it! Nobody is going to be looking at you thinking you are silly, people will be envious, happy for you and probably really glad to share a little part of your day! I would be!

I saw a bride in dress and all in November. But if she doesn't want to she shouldn't.

If the idea that it's happened before is all that is stopping her I would say it's likely happened many times.

I would suggest her bringing a more casual but elegant white dress for the dinner wearing her veil or the crown that it is attached to :bride: . That way, she is still the bride, but less conspicuous.

Best Wishes to you both.

I've seen wedding dresses there too...

I wore mine there! It was great. We got some special attention too. I picked O'hana because I knew people often wore their gowns there and I wanted to get my money's worth out of the gown, but again, it is up to the bride and whatever she feels comfortable with.
