Wedding Dress

you look beautiful and it is a lovely dress, I have to agree with everyone leso, if you have doubts keep looking, when you find "the dress", you will definately know it is right for you

£25 is not too much to spend if you think of all the phone call all the shops you have tried looking for the dress and how many hours spent surfing the net

I think if you end up getting the dress they would not charge you the £25

The dress is really nice , but if you are having any douths keep looking
and keep posting photos for us too
maybe you should have a poll on here so we can pick

good luck

Sophie that dress is gorgeous :) If it is only £25 to get the other one in, I would say that it would be £25 well spent especially if it is the one!

I agree with everyone the dress is beautiful but if you have doubts now they will probably just get bigger, I remember thinking I'd found the dress but when I tried it on for the second time it just didn't look right, try on loads and you'll find THE dress :goodvibes

Thats a really gorgeous dress!! Its stunning and really suits you! It does look like a wedding dress, even without the fuller skirt!

I agree with others though, i tried on loads of dresses and i finally put one on and knew it was the dress for me! So if your not sure keep looking :goodvibes

I think it looks great and I would be very proud to marry you if you were wearing that dress. Please don't feel the need to submit to 'meringue' normality.

Andy, that's such a lovely thing to say! Men are capable of saying the right thing ;)

I think its a really beautiful dress but if you are not sure then keep looking, like everyone else when I tried on my dress I just knew it was the one. I would pay the £25 to get the other one in. :thumbsup2

I think it looks Fab.. :thumbsup2 Only thing I thought was weird was no vial, but then again, it's better that we get to see you..

Hi Queenie, I think you look beautiful but if you have your doubts keep looking. I saw on the wedding channel that the average number of dresses a bride tries on is 14.
I paid for a dress to be sent to the store so I could try it on and the dress shop said if I bought it they would discount that money off the dress. If you really like it give it a go. Who is the designer?

OK I've been to the shop and tried on that dress again (the one with the pic on page 1) and I know now it's definately not the one. Whilst it is a beautiful dress it doesn't feel right and I know I don't want to wear it on my wedding day. I have seen another lovely one today but the one from the fair is still weighing on my mind so I'm going to carry on finding that one.

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Go for it

You'll get there :) Glad you have managed to make a decision on the pictured dress

The other dress is a huge saga! I tried it on at a wedding fair and loved it straight away. The shop that were demoing at the fair are a long way from here so I've been calling around trying to find it and no one has it in. I know the designer and the dress name so I've been using the list of stockists on the designer's site to attempt to find it but no luck so far in over 30 shops. One had it in but in a size 20. I called the shop from the fair and even they don't have it anymore!

Two of the shops have told me they can get one in for me from the designer but it will cost £25. That seems daft just for trying a dress on when there's no guarantee I'll buy it.

Sophie have a look on the american website for the dress. this is what my nephews bride to be did, she found the dress she wanted here in the uk and then found the exact same one on a usa website for £100's of pounds less.

Hey Sophie

I totally agree about going with your gut on this one. I'm getting married in WDW so I post alot on the Weddings and Honeymoon board. In my planning journal I had a similar predicament, except I paid the deposit of £200 on the first dress. I tried it on and although I did love it, something wasn't right. It was an off the rack dress, and I had to lose some weight to get into it properly but my mum agreed it was beautiful. I paid the deposit the next day over the phone. A month went by and I was still looking online for the dress of my dreams, I decided to go into my local bridal salon on the off chance. In my head I knew I wanted a fuller skirt and the original dress just didn't have this, it was bugging me so much.
I walked in, and there it was on the hanger, my dream dress. I asked to try it on and I was speechless, it was everything I had wanted in a dress. I asked her if I could get my mum to come in the next day for her opinion so the next day she did and she absolutely agreed it was 'THE DRESS'. I paid £200 on the spot and cancelled the original dress. The original shop tried to say I owed her the rest of the money but as I didn't sign anything and it was off the rack she couldn't charge me. She even tried to get me to pay for dry cleaning as there was fake tan marks on the dress before I tried it on:eek:
The shop owner of my new dress is wonderful, she is so friendly and is even lending me the underskirt for my whole 3 weeks in Florida at no extra charge. She will do all alterations including adding a sash for £50, which is a bargain.

Here is a pic of my new dress: This is not me, as my dress had to be ordered and it's due in the end of July. I don't have a pic of the back unfortunately, it is absolutely gorgeous, it has a really long train and there is white roses at the back which I am having accented with black and gold leaves, I am also having a black sash right down to the ground.

The point of my long tale is, make sure you are truely happy with your choice, I lost my £200 which would have came in really handy right now. However I am now so happy with my dress, you'll know for definate when you find 'THE DRESS':cloud9:

Hi Sophie

Just wanted to say that I'm pleased you have decided to keep looking, your dream dress will definately be out there somewhere. Definitely listen to the people in the shop too - my wedding dress was picked by an assistant and I thought it was far too fussy - until I put it on and fell in love. It's kinda like love - you will know when it is right :goodvibes

And, Summer-Caitlin, your dress is gorgeous :)

Laur's princess:
