Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place, I just wondered if anyone would be able to help me?

I've seen a gorgeous wedding dress that I love on ebay for an absolute bargain price (the seller is sells second hand dresses or slightly damaged or dirty sample dresses). The dress is literally a fraction of the cost brand new, and I would never be able to afford have it otherwise, plus 100% of the sale price goes to charity, so I would get to help out as well have a beautiful dress.

But my problem is that the seller (from USA) won't ship internationally (I'm in England). I've tried asking them, but they for whatever reason don't want to send items outside the USA.

So my question is, does anyone know if there is such a thing as a service in the USA, where you can have items delivered to, where they will then send them onto another (international) address?

This may have something to do with customs or the rules laid down by the actual designer. I know, for example, that some designers, (eg Maggie Sottero) will not permit their dresses to be shipped internationally from sites such as 'BestBridalPrices'. I am not sure why this is, but I think it may be a tough one to get around. Good luck anyway.

do you know anyone that lives here in the usa that maybe you can send the dress to their house and then have them ship it to you?

btw-congratz!!!!:goodvibes

There are services out there but it doesn't work out cheap! In my experience you have to be getting a real bargain on your purchase to make the fees worthwhile. A quick google brings up http://www.myus.com, $10 joining fee to set up an address, the shipping cost and then they charge 5-10% on top. Don't forget to also factor in customs charges etc.

I didn't realise some designers had rules like that!

Unfortunately not, I've even tried asking friends of friends :sad2:
Thanks for the congratulations :)

Thanks for this, I tried googling but came up with nothing.
It is a real bargain, it's a Watters dress for around £100 (which retails for more than £1,000), so it will be worth it!

Think I best go and research how much wedding dresses weigh now!

Thanks everyone :goodvibes

Hop shop and go is by paypal so its totally safe and thats what they specialize in is sending items to other countries! They give you your own address and then send the package onto your address i have used it quite a bit as i am in australia but purchase alot of things from us sites!! Hope this helps!

Do you have a paypal account? Would you be willing to pay for international shipping? I'm sure a disfriend or two would volunteer to help you get your dream dress. It would just require one of us buying it, then selling it back to you at cost + international shipping. :-)

You can try a package forward service. I have seen alot of positive posts about myaddressus.com.

Great luck with the wedding!

i would be a bit warry of buying a dress if you've never tried it on. From my experience and i bet a lot of brides will probably say the same thing until you try a dress on in the person then just because it looks nice in a pic doesnt mean it will look right on. Originally i wanted a princesses dress and there are some beautiful dress out there but they just dont suit me and something that i wouldn't of probably considered looked lovely on. My advice is unless you know that dress would suit you then be wary of buying off the internet.
