Wedding Dress Choices Etc

the dress choices are just so feminine and pretty. I love them.

Love your make-up choices as well. I'm also going for that kind of look.

I love it!!!!:dance3:  :lovestruc

My mum laid a lill egg over it saying "he cant wear that blah blah blah" but my sis corrected her & said its there wedding they can do whatever they want:yay: . Her friends hubby got married in biker gear so it really should be a reflection on the person wearing it any way.

Ooohh, now this opens up my can of worms with my mom. I have a Native American Indian arm band tattoo and she is having kittens that I am letting it go wild and free as nature intended on my wedding day - with a strapless dress.

It actually looks really cool and as we are having a NAI theme to the wedding with a sand ceremony and vows it will fit really well.

I'm getting hair extensions to cover my back as I have a large back-piece tattoo and that didn't look right poking over the top of the dress but unless I wear sleeves or something to cover it I can't use cover-kits to cover the arm band as it will rub off.

My Df is so happy I'm 'going naked' as he calls it as he loves the tattoo.

Your wedding day should be a reflection of you - definitley :thumbsup2

The smokey eyed look just takes a lot of practice, if you re not use to wearing very strong colours then try it with neutral tones like a mix of soft & deep browns & once you re use to that go for silvers & blacks. It does take a while to get it perfect:rolleyes: , i have to do my makeup quite full on due to my profession but even still im sometimes screw up getting the smokey look perfect. Key thing is to blend, blend & blend more & liquid liner is a must plus if you cab wear false lashes with it then it looks amazing:woohoo:

If you wanna go to a makeup counter then i recommend one that specialises in just cosmetics ie Mac, Nars (are amazing so if you can find them id def recommend them), Stilla, Bobbi Brown. Kind of houses you only find in large department stores ( not Debenhams though) or Space NK:) . I have to go to Bluewater for these kinda brands which is some distance but is very much worthwhile to get fab quality cosmetics!!!

Everything adds up very scarily, when we totaled up the whole costs we were both gobsmacked:scared1: . Then again we are going disney twice in 8 months so i guess its our own fault.:cutie:

We were originally gonna have Mickey & Pluto at the wedding reception (i realy would of loved Eeyore as hes my fav but they dont allow this so one of my next favs is Pluto). Then when we added everything up we decided a couple of cuts are needed:rolleyes: . I wanted our dinner to be held at C.Grill but thinking about it its really not somewhere i think my df would feel comfortable in. Plus he only tends to like standard English food so we re gonna go to Chef Mickeys now.
It ll be a lot of fun, good mix of food plus we ger pics with the characters thrown in all for a hell of a lot cheaper:woohoo:

I might start trying with browns etc... like you say and see how it goes! We live near the Trafford Centre and there is a Selfridges in there & I'm sure they sell Mac cosmetics so I might have to go in for a nosey ;)

It really does add up fast - at the moment we are looking at 2 weddings, a honeymoon and an at home reception, so we've got lots of shuffling to do with the budget, but i'm sure we'll get there in the end :wizard: You are so lucky going twice in 8 months, you'll definately be making the most of your annual passes ;)

Awww, I know what you mean though, the characters are very expensive - your way of doing things is great though, because in theory you are getting even more characters and they are for free - BARGAIN! :yay: Originally we were looking at Minnie & Mickey, but I reeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllly wanted Stitch as he's my fave - I'm totally obsessed with the cute little dude. We can't afford all 3 so we've just gone with Stitch and we're trying to have a beach theme so he fits in perfectly

Sounds like we'd get on perfectly, we're basically burger & chips people too  I dont think we are going to have a meal afterwards because I think I'd feel akward eating somewhere in my dress & people looking at just me & DF, if we had someone with us then I would love to go eat - but I'd feel a bit 'on show' if it was just the two of us :upsidedow

Bless "man talk" always makes me chuckle:rotfl: :lmao:
I love the "its gay" statement, i bet you just roll your eyes & pretend you did nt hear him say that  . Sometimes i think men are worse with worrying over their appearance than us girls!!
Ooooh black converse with a suit does get my vote though ;) :woohoo: .

If i had my way my df would dress "grungy" for our wedding as that to me is the look i most like men in (i have a strange choice i know) & when we met at 17 yrs old thats how my df looked:love: . Hes adament thats not gonna happen ( i think my mum would keel over:rotfl: ) so the half suit half jeans & trainers is a good compromise:)

Oh, to be nearly 13 again!! Everything is 'gay' right now... Hes too cute! I was browsing through the history on the computer the other day when I noticed he'd taken 'the gay test' so I was chuckling about it and asking his what that was all about... Instead of being all coy and shy about it, he turned around and said 'Yeah, but i'm only 2% gay... How cool is that?' If he had his way, he'd be in a kilt because they (apparently) aren't gay!!!!

Ooohh, now this opens up my can of worms with my mom. I have a Native American Indian arm band tattoo and she is having kittens that I am letting it go wild and free as nature intended on my wedding day - with a strapless dress.

Oh tattoo drama!!! My mother thinks our whole wedding is going to be ruined because I have a few!! I have some dermablend to cover up my arm tattoo, only because the colours will clash! LOL. My back tattoos i'm not too bothered about covering... they are quite high up across the top of my back so won't be cut in half, and my veil I figure will soften them a bit. My ma keeps giving me the 'I told you that you'd regret getting them' look... Thing is, I absolutely love them and can't imagine NOT having them... wedding or no wedding!!!

She flipped the other week when I had my navel pierced with a blue stone belly bar for my something blue! Beats a blue bow on a garter any day!! :rotfl:

pink_tink8i8 :goodvibes

Im glad you like all my choices too :woohoo: , thats why i love the dresses as they are really "girly" plus ones pink so that took my eye on colour a lone;)

Beep :goodvibes

Hey Alex,

I totally love the NAI theme, its very original plus both me & my df have always loved the sprituality & symbolism that NAI's use (plus men with long hair always get my vote:laughing: ). I bet your tattoo looks amazing then. I ve got a tattoo just above my hip bone which is of the infinity sign with an "N" through it (N stands for Nirvana) which im very proud of as i designed it.
I dont think mums are eveer keen on their kids getting tattos as both me, my sis & bro have all been lectured about ours:rolleyes: .

At the end of the day this is your wedding & you should look & wear exactly what you want. You dont want to be looking back at your pics wishing away things you should of done. The only people you should be wanting to please is your df & yourself :) .

If you re looking for a good cover up product then search for your nearest Dermablend stockist. No joke it ll cover up tattoos completly & is smudge & water proof. I use to work in a beauty salloon in Kensington London that sold it & it was amazing the amount of coverage it can give. Seriously though dont cover your arm if you really dont want to. Your wedding day should be a reflection of both you & your df, no one else. Your mum means well but you ve got to make such decisions yourself:cutie:

Whats the tattoo on your back of then?? I personally have always loved anthony Kiedis from (REd Hot Chilli Peppers) tattoo thats on his back, its amazing :cheer2:

Hey Jo

Lucky you for having a selfridges near you, if its anything like the one in London then the beauty section is like makeup heaven although can be a lill manic:eek: Mac makeup is fab but if you can find Nars def approach them first. The pigment they use in the shadows is slightly better than Mac which basically means the colour goes on just how it looks in the pallette without the need for building it up. Honestly Nars is incredible:love: :lovestruc . Unfortunatly Mac makeup artists can be a little how can i put it "full of themselves" as they know they re working for one of the top brands. I get a lot of customers say to me they find Mac m/up artists unapproachable so have a walk a round the counter & try to gage who seems like a nice friendly person working on the counter. Men m/up artists are amazing as well so try to locate a man if you can;)

My friend loves Stitch too :lovestruc , must admit when he started saying "Ohana means family etc etc" i cried like a baby. Are you gonna try to have him at the reception (i presume you can have Sticth anyway).

My dfs a very very picky eater which makes eating a restaurants a tad difficult. He ll only eat roast chicken or things like chicken in breadcrumbs, Steak , Burgers & roast joints (standard english meals) so when i looked at C.Grills menu i thought "oh we could have some problems here:headache:". So Chef Mickeys will be a no worries meal as at least i know he ll enjoy it which is one more worry off my mind.
I want our pre wedding meal at Ohanas & our wedding day lunch at Grand Floridian Cafe:)

Oh hun dont worry about what everyone a round you thinks, you wear your dress to dinner :dance3: . At the end of the day i see it like this, its gonna be the only time i get to waer this dress, its gonna cost a fortune so i wanna get as much usage that day as is possible. Plus knowing me i wont wanna take it off, i think the idea of being a princess for the day sounds like my idea of heaven:cloud9:. Theres not gonna be very many of us at all either so dont worry about it just being you & your df, its the one day where you re allowed to look special so take full advantage of it:yay:

DigitalLove :goodvibes

I think with most men they have to make it plan that they re "not gay" as its to defend the male pride they have:rolleyes: . It makes me :lmao: :rotfl: but i think its a common manly thing so dont worry hun you re not alone in rolling your eyes at your other half;)

Your tattoos are a big reflection of you & your personality so covering them up is a bit like taking a way your identity. Some brides do like to cover them up but you should nt feel like you ve got to.
Oooooooh thats a fab idea for my something blue, i can get a blue belly bar for my tummy piercing, i had nt thought of that:idea: . Gees hows your piercing doing then?? Mine took months to heal up & boy it kept getting infected. It was soooooo painful but i ve now had it about 6 years & in all honsety i forget i ve got it

Its not my OH i'm rolling my eyes at.... Its my 12 year old son!!! LOLOLOL

The piercing is great! Can't believe I pondered over getting it done for months and months because I was convinced it would be agonising and yet i'll quite happily sit there and let my tattooist work on me for hours at a time! Weird!!! I thought she was still fiddling with clamp when it was pierced and the bar was in, and i've had absolutely no problems with it since other than catching it occassionally on the sides of a patients bed when i'm at work.

One day my I figure my Ma will actually make good on her promise to never speak to me again if I get another! I had 6 now, and she's said that since the very first tattoo!! LOLOL

Hey honey

I think I'll try and hunt down some Nars cosmetics then, I dont fancy having something done by somebody who is too busy loving themselves. Im quite a shy person and that would just really put me on edge I think.

I totally adore Stitch, I've got stuff everywhere of him  I collect snowglobes aswell and have got some gorgeous ones of him :) Do you collect anything in particular from disney?? Yep, Stitch is on our guest list for the reception

Your DF sounds exactly the same and my & my DF :rotfl2: We love our plain food :rotfl: I've not really given much thought to the meals yet, you are right though - I want to stay in my dress for as long as possible. I'll just see what we end up deciding, it might be easier for us to just have something on the Grand 1 if we manage to book it :goodvibes

I kinda wish we had someone with us because then I wouldnt feel as 'on show' but it'll still be special with just the two of us :bride:

Its a shame you dont live down my way as you could come to where i work & i could do your makeup for you:rolleyes: . Mac counters tend to be pretty large with tons of girls working on them which you may find a tad intimidating (i do & i work in the industry). Nars counters are always quite small with normally one or two girls working on them, plus they re always less hectic than Mac. Mac counters always have loud music pumping out of them too, its the one counter customers swarm to. If not have you got a Space NK near you as they sell fantastic makeup brands inc Nars. All you need is to go somewhere where you ll feel comfortable where someone can spend plenty of time with you & go through all of your ideas for makeup. You maybe better therefore not heading for Selfridges as if its like the one of London it ll always be busy & if your slightly concerned about people staring at you then that environment may not be ideal.

Well as for collecting things Disney, i ve got loads of Eeyores everywhere (teddys, statues, you name it i ve got it). I love Dumbo to so have got fair few things of him plus we ve got totally addicted to Pin Trading so have got nearly 200 of then now.

It ll be so so romantic just the two of you, in all honesty i think my df would love it if it was only me & him on our wedding day;) .

Honestly i think you should go to one of the restaurants in your dress, you should nt give a damn what other people think or if they stare, let them stare this day only happens once so you should rightly be the centre of attention:woohoo:

Aww Chick!! Its your wedding day and it will be just perfect with just the two of you there!! You only get to wear your dress once (OK, twice if you're having a reception back at home!) so keep it on for every single second!!! You're in Disney... small weddings are a common occurance so you wont look in the least bit out of place..... Its not like traipsing around The Trafford Centre on a Saturday afternoon in full wedding gear!!! :lmao:

I totally agree, if anything its the one place where people looove:love: to see women dressed up looking like princesses. Little girls especially love it plus it all adds to the whole Fairytale that Disney is :cloud9:

In all honesty i dont think many people will bat an eye to ladies walking a round in full bridal gear, in Disneyworld anything goes:woohoo: . Its your one day to shine so enjoy every sec that you re allowed to wear your dress, i sure know i will:cutie:

Me too!!! I intend keeping it on for every single second I can... which really suprises me as I didn't think I would ever wear the kind of dress I picked!! Everyone should be a princess bride for a day!! :bride:

Wish I did live near you - but can you imagine it, we'd never get anything done because we'd be too busy talking about disney :rotfl:

I'll have to look into the whole make-up thing and see what I can find, I'll keep ya posted ;)

Awww I love Eeyore, he's another of my faves, got some cute bits of him too. I bought a few pins when we last went, they are so adorable - even my DF started purchasing some and put them on his hat!

I'll be fine once I'm there and experiencing everything, thats why Im so pleased to have this board because I get to share my feelings with people who know what im going on about :grouphug:

See, I've not been dress shopping yet - but once I do and I pick the dress, I'll probably be thinking the same and will never want to take it off
