Wedding dress alterations

Ok so I am I am still an unifical bride but dont want to wait until the last minute to plan. A few months ago my friend gave me this beautiful dress that a friend of hers did not use and was going to throw away. The dress looks awesome on me but I always dreamed of a little color. It is all white with pearls and some shiny sequence and stuff like that on it. My question is would it be possible to add some subtle lavendar stones to it. I think I need that but just do not know if it is possible. If it is has anyone ever done this and about how much did they pay. Since the dress was free I would be ok with paying a decent amount for it.

I had a work colleague who bought a designer wedding dress in a sale cause someone had ripped the beads off the back where the zip was. She bought it for 10% of the actual price and spent the 6 months prior to her wedding sewing beads on the dress every night. She bought them off ebay so they matched. The end result was fantastic, she had a designer dress that she loved and saved herself almost $2000.
I think if you have the time and patience like she did you can add on beads yourself, then it will be more unique and special. It's your dress at the end of the day so you can change anything you want to it. I wouldn't pay for someone to do it not when you can do it yourself so cheaply.

i think you could definitely do this yourself. how crafty are you? i glitterize EVERYTHING (a pair of nikes in high school, every cell phone i've ever owned...) and i get my swarovski crystals from www.mjtrim.com they're the best...they sell a special glue that is infallible (if it works on my cell phone, it'll work on EVERYTHING). you could use that to glue the tiny little ones on your dress. i think that would be fabulous. that site has a ton of sizes and colors! hth!

Thanks for the response ladies. I am very crafty. I still have 2 years so I have the time. I have alot of pearls on the top part so maybe I can just add the beads to the top. Thanks for the website it is awesome.
