I was wondering what everyone did for transportation for the guests.....did you hire transportation for the guests or did the guests utilize the transportation options offered by disney?

Thanks !

It really depends on where the majority of your guests are staying, how many and where you are getting married and having reception.

We had 40 guests the majority of whom were all staying at hotels in the Epcot resort area and therefore it was easy for them to get the Friendship boats or walk to the Yacht Club Gazebo and our reception was at Ariels at the Beach Club so everyone walked back there too. This saved an awful lot of money. For the evening Illuminations Party we got everyone to meet us at EPCOT but again this is because all of our guests were all Disney regulars so it was easy for them to know their way around.

We arranged transport for our families to get to the Yacht Club to get ready as they were all part of the wedding anyway.

We had about 30 guests, but our events were all over the property, and we had guests at Riverside, Old Key West and All Star. We decided to have a Disney bus, which they decorated with tulle bows on the seats. It picked up at the hotels, took everyone to the Wedding Pavillion, then to the back entrance of the Living Seas at EPCOT, then over to America for the Candlelight Processional and then after the Illuminations party it picked up just behind the UK and took everyone home. My Grandma wasn't feeling well and they took her to her hotel and dropped her at the building after the Candlelight Processional, and my Uncle back to All Star when he was ready to head back. It was nice having it at our disposal.

You may be required to provide some sort of transportation depending on the location of your reception. We had ours at the living seas and they required us to provide transportation to and from the reception since it was held within one of the theme parks and we had to use the back entrance. We used the bus service set up by Disney (I think it is actually through Mears, they use the same busses as the Disney Cruise Line). This worked out really well. We blocked all of our guest rooms at the All Star Movies (to keep everyone in one place). Guests that were not staying on property either met the others at the hotel and took the bus to the wedding or met us at the wedding pavillion. The bus picked up guests at the hotel, brought them to the wedding and transported everyone to and from the reception (back to the pavillion and hotel(s).

can anyone tell me how much is the bus? and do they decorate the bus for free?
thanks

From what I recall, the bus is about $78/hour (or close to that figure), there is a minimum of three hours rental. They do not decorate the bus, it is strictly for transportation. However, the bus is the really nice motorcoach type, not a school bus or anything like that.

I think they hold about 50-60 people each, so depending on your guest count you may need more than one.

I believe for the decorations they charged us around $50 - it was through Disney floral and on my floral budget. It wasn't much but it was nice to have a little something special. And the sign had our names and "Wedding" on it.
