My daughter's dream has always been getting married at WDW. The budget, however, is pretty tight. What is the least expensive alternative available? We see the Escape weddings start around $4,000. Is there anything less expensive? I've noticed mention of Intimate/Deluxe Intimate Weddings. What would those include? I don't see those on the Disney Weddings website.

Disney just went through and renamed all of their packages. They changed the name of their intimate weddings to Escape. It is the same package except they increased their price by $1000 and now include an annual pass for the bride and groom.

I don't believe there is any possible way to have a Disney wedding for under the price of an Escape wedding... unless you are part of a military family which gives you the option to do a Disney wedding at Shades of Green (which, correct me if I'm wrong, is not technically done through DFTW).

Good luck!! :goodvibes

Kelly you are right Shades of Green weddings do not fall under DFTW's.

I thought it was only the custom wedding (now they call Wishes wedding) that you get the APs. So now its both the intimate and custom?

Another less expensive option, although not through FTW or with Disney privilages are Swan and Dolphin weddings.

I've never heard of this! So just by having a custom wedding you and your future hubby get annual passes? Does it cost extra? That's amazing! Me and my DF have seasonal passes now but we just renewed them and they will probably be expired before we get married, it'd be nice to not have to worry about renewing them next year on top of everything else!

Any confirmation on this would be GREAT! :woohoo:

I do know custom wedding couple get the APs...but we already hold PAP, so I'm wondering if they'll just let us pay the difference...it would save us a bunch on our renewal! :)

As for a cheaper WDW wedding option....its not on property..but have you looked into the cruise?? Its not much less, but it is all inclusive and can be cheap. Just an idea :)

On board ceremonies start at $2698 and castaway cay ceremonies start at $3698. Then you can add enhancements just like you can with an escape wedding. Afterwards you can have dinner at Palo if there are no children in your party.

In 2008, both Intimate (Escape) weddings and Custom (Wishes) weddings will get passes, but they are "free" for Wishes weddings (if by free you mean "I am paying $10,000 minimum for this wedding").

The Escape wedding APs are not really free because the cost of the package went up by $1,000 (more than the face value of two standard APs :sad2: )

From what I've heard, you can upgrade the AP vouchers they give you to Premium APs by paying the difference in cost.

Ugh! I am soo not liking the $1000 price increase with the inclusion of the AP's. I would much rather save $1000 on my package and receive no AP's. We can only afford to go to Disney (and that's staying off site!) once a year, unfortunately, so we'll never get our money's worth from the AP's. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to save more!

I am having a wedding at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in downtown Disney. The location is gorgeous and it is only costing me $1865. This is what it includes:

Intimate Wedding Package
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress also offers special packages for our guests looking for a smaller, more intimate celebration, including:

* Beautiful two-tiered wedding cake to share with all your guests
* Toast with two bottles of sparkling champagne
* Deluxe accommodations for the bride and groom on the wedding night
* Choice of ceremony site from our many beautiful locations around the
resort
* Bride’s nosegay bouquet and Groom’s boutonniere
* Professional Wedding Coordinator to assist you from planning through
the final goodbye
* Officiate, to perform your ideal ceremony

Their website is:

We are having a small luncheon afterwards in their Cascade Restaurant. We are having a Disney themed home reception and some kind of welcome party at Disney.

I just couldn't afford the Disney wedding and this way, I still get a trip to Disney, my first time, and we are going on a cruise afterwards with the money we are saving.
