Okay, since I am new to this I am starting to get a little confused.
I have talked to Heidi from DFTW, but am really unsure what her role is. Is she my planner or is she just the jumping off point? Do I get transferred to someone later on when we are ready to sign contracts? If so, who does everyone recommend and are you assigned to them or can you request?

Generally, your first contact is with a Sales Manager type person who gathers some of the basic information for you. Later (either as you are closer to getting contacts or within a couple of weeks, depending on when you call) you will be assigned a Wedding Planner/Coordinator.

Different planners/coordinators are assigned based on the type of ceremony you are having (Escape or Wishes).

Coordinators get you through contract (used to be caled Sales Manager) and Planners get you from contract to the event (used to be called Event manager)

Wedding Consultants are the first contact people for a wishes and couture wedding and then the Wedding Event Planner is the person after the contract is signed. I think the term "Coordinator" is for the Escape weddings.

In the beginning I was speaking to Heidi regarding my wedding dates and she filled me on information. When it got to the 8 month mark she sent a contract to sign and return with a deposit, after they receive the deposit they send out the save the dates... and she then signs you to a wedding planner... She really is the one to get you started

hi, i spoke to a consultant called diane and she is soo helpfull, we had a chat with her for about 40 mins, she answered all our questions.
I cant belive that someone can spend so much time talkin to us/ helping us event though they havent takern deposit for wedding untill 8 months before!! i mean if it was the uk and we had booked a wedding i 'm sure they would want a deposit as soon as we said we would like that dates!!
We are heading over to florida in nov time (deposit paid by then) and we are seeing dianne early into the holiday then later on seeing a planner, we also were told that when we sign our contracts and pay 2K deposit they send back our annual passes!! result as we wont need to buy disney passes for that trip!!
I WANT TO MOVE TO FLORIDA LOL...... ITS SO MUCH BETTER THAN UK!!

I have Heidi as well and she told me that she is the Wedding Consultant, and that later on we would be assigned a planner. I'm 9 months away and finalizing my addresses and room blocks so we can get the contract done. I thought I was running behind, but I see that someone here got their contract 8 months before, so I'm feeling a little relieved.
Can't tell you how daunting it is to read some posts where brides have their dresses, invites, and flowers picked out 2 years in advance....makes me feel like I have no time left....
