Hi everyone,

Just a quick question I am just wondering do people usually just tip there wedding coordinator or do people know of great gift ideas?

Thanks...

I've primarily heard that you just tip. I haven't had my wedding yet though...so I'm actually quite interested in the answer to this question too. :)

For whoever has a good answer...if it's a monetary tip...how much are they expecting? Do you just tip the planner, or their assistant too?

I sent mine a $300 Disney gift card-she was very appreciative. I also sent a stellar reference letter to her boss, highlighting how amazing she was as our planner :)

I will be sending a gift to the planner as in my particular situation I have dealt more with the assistant than my planner. I actually just wrote to my planner to get some ideas of what the assistant likes so I want to put together a basket of some sort.

That's where my confusion comes in. From what I understand, EVERYONE deals with the assistant more than the planner. I asked because I wasn't sure if maybe the planner/assistant split whatever tip the couple provides? For example, if I gave $200 to the planner, would the assistant get a cut of that? I definitely want the assistant to get SOMETHING. Seriously--I know the planner is busy...but the assistant seems to be doing all the legwork. :) I'm pretty sure my planner assistant HATES me (she does a good job of concealing it) because I ask her so many questions all the time (including stupid things like, "Why is a Mickey premium $6 for the dessert party, but $4 in the park? What's stopping me from just walking out of the party for a second, buying a Mickey premium, and walking back?").

The planner likes me because the assistant has already taken care of my dumb questions. :) So yeah...I definitely feel like the assistant needs SOMETHING for her troubles. There's no way Disney pays her enough!
