Wedding Cake flavours

Hmmmmm we are doing the same thing only in reverse:

Top Chocolate with PBCup Mousse
Bottom Almond with Amaretto Mousse

Now I love chocolate and I love peanut butter, but listening to you Wendy, I'm beginning to have doubts about this. What was it that you preferred about the almond cake (which was fantastic!) Before we changed to Escape from wishes, we had our PS and got to taste cakes. So I know what each cake tastes like.

Don't worry, Lisa - the PB Cup mousse is better than the PB mousse. The chocolate mousse cuts some of the tangy weirdness of the peanut butter mousse. (It tastes like peanut butter flavored cream cheese to me....)

If I get a re-creation of our cake for our anniversary, I'll definitely pick PB Cup mousse over PB mousse - and I'm a peanut butter freak!

Don't get me wrong. The peanut butter mousse wasn't BAD, it just wasn't TO DIE FOR! I think part of the issue too was that we couldn't get peanut butter cup as our cake came from the boardwalk bakery and we were an escape wedding. As it stood at the time of our wedding, peanut butter mousse had just become available. It really was good though.

Where do you find out about choices like that?? My planning sheets have very basic flavors.

HMMMMMMM. I wasn't told I couldn't have PBCup mousse. I'm assuming my cake will come from there as I am having my ceremony at SBP. I will have to check in with my planner to make sure.

Are you having an escape wedding or a wishes?? I don't know if that makes a difference, other than I did not upgrade my cake. I just went with what was available...

We chose 5 flavors of cake at our cake tasting on Friday.

Bottom: Marble cake with peanutbutter cup (we didn't actually get to taste this)
4th:Yellow cake with Bavarian cream and fresh raspberries
3rd: Yellow cake with Bavarian cream and fresh strawberries
2nd: Yellow cake with tropical mousse (which I renamed Dole Whip mousse)
top: Marble cake with peanutbutter cup

Grooms cake: Marble cake with raspberry mousse

We went for lighter flavors but I think that had a lot to do with how full we were from our menu tasting. It was so much food.

I'm an escape now. But I have requested those flavors from my Escape Planner, and she said, "no problem"

We are doing chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse and strawberries as the bottom layer and almond cake w/amaretto mousse with raspberries for the top layer. Both layers are being cut and served, 2 slices per plate, and we aren't having an anniversary layer.
