Wedding bands=sexy?

  • Yes, definitely sexy!!!!

  • Not sexy, but something I have to wear.

  • It's just a ring, not a miracle worker!

I was watching Isaac Mizrahi's show the other night. He was interviewing a young lady on the street and he suggested that she wear a wedding band, even though she wasn't married. He said it makes people look "sexy" when they wear one. I thought about it and I have to say that I agree with him. :teeth:

What do you all think?

I have no idea who he is, but he must be reaching far! LOL! I know I wear mine from time to time...when I don't want to be bothered!!!! :teeth: :rotfl2:

What is the theory behind this...

"Hmmm, personally I think that person over there is hideous, but WAIT A MINUTE... they are wearing a wedding band. Well, obviously I have misjudged them. SOMEBODY thinks they're hot! What was I thinking...they are in fact quite a catch!"

I guess you chose option #3! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Too funny!

I find it extremely sexy when my DH wears his wedding ring. As it is an occupational hazard for him to wear it while he is working, he does not wear it every day, and that does not bother me at all. But when I see him sliding it on his finger - have to say it does do a little something for me!

Sexy on other men - no, not really.

We both ALWAYS wear our wedding bands and I can´t see anything remotely sexy about that. They show that we are both "taken" and I can´t see why that should b sexy to someone. But hey, to each their own.

Says alot about some of the guys out there  - but I did notice a HUGE increase in being hit on by guys when I was out with friends after I got my engagement ring.

I don't remember his exact words, the girl looked at him like he had two heads. :teeth: It was something along the lines of "being taken" and the challenge that may present to some men. :teeth:

So used in this way, it becomes a home-wrecker magnet? What do potential suitors do when they find out the wearer isn't actually married?

I have NO IDEA for anybody else. I hardly EVER was hit on in my life that I could tell..... EXCEPT when I used to wear my wedding ring. Then I can, for sure say that I was hit on SEVERAL times.

I don't get this theory. I think it's sexy when I see my husband's wedding band- but when I see random people on the street I don't think they are hotter just because they have a wedding band on. If anything, if I was checking a guy out (assuming I was single) and noticed a wedding band, I'd move right along.

See, but you're a decent person.

I think it was a stupid thing for him to suggest. Sure, she may suddenly be more attractive to the guys who are looking for a challenge, but quite frankly, I wouldn't want the guys who would be hitting on me just for the "challenge" factor.

Not just men, it works both ways.

It has been proven time and time again...a man has more of a chance being hit on WITH a wedding band than without. So, women are just as bad.

To a man, a woman wearing a wedding band means that while they may be up for a tryst, they won't have to worry about the whole relationship/commitment thing.

To a woman, a man with a wedding ring means he must not be too bad if some other woman is willing to take him on, so why don't I see if I can find out what he's about?

I have never noticed an increase in being hit on since I got married. My DH, OTOH, says that his wedidng ring is like a "chick magnet". He's not the type to take the bait, thank goodness.

Was just talking about this over the weekend. For years, I always wore a clauddaugh ring to signify that I was attached and then this past Christmas, Joe gave me a beautiful band which I wear every single day. Funny how you can feel nekkid when you forget to wear something like that, eh?

Anyway, I noticed a huge difference in the interest on the part of the ladies. Before, rarely if ever did anyone gimme a smile. Now, I get a few glances. Who knew the power of The Ring?

I guess if a ring signifies the "unattainable" hence a challenge, imagine a big gay guy with a wedding band.

Sounds like the basis for a really bad reality show on Bravo.
