SO and I have decided on what we want our wedding bands to be like. We know that we will have them engraved, but haven't given that too much thought yet, possibly just our initials and the date, but the real special part for us is the bands themselves. We are both going to have channel set platinum bands. My birthstone is the diamond and his is the sapphire so my band will be channel set diamonds with one sapphire in the center (in honor of SO) and his band will be channel set sapphires with one diamond in the middle (in honor of me). The stones will be small (I don't want my band to overshadow my engagement ring), and nobody but us will probably understand the significance unless we mention it.
