My wife and I are celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at Disney World. We are staying on site and have dinner reservations at some very nice restaurants. AT what point do we notify establishments that we are celebrating a special occasion? In past years I thought you were asked if you were celebrating something when you booked the reservation. I don't see that question this year.

Stop at the desk of your resort and ask for the purple buttons and ask if they'd be willing to write 35 years on them! The purple buttons are great for weddings, honeymoons, and anniversaries!

Also they do ask when you get to the restaurant and everyone will see your buttons, you should both wear one. We both wore them on our honeymoon trip (I also had a birthday button, and alternated between my birthday ears/bride ears).

When you check-in for the ADR on the Disney app it be of the questions will ask about celebrations.

You can also add the celebration to your resort reservation. I did that when we booked my FILs birthday trip, the TV said happy birthday and literally every ADR I made asked if we wanted to add a celebration cake.

I spoke to a cast member today about adding notation about our celebration to dinner reservations. She was very helpful and added a note to every dining reservation. Unfortunately, she was unable to pull up our Boulder Ridge Villa reservation. She blamed the fact that the room was booked through Undercover Tourist rather than Disney. I had a confirmation number and explained that the reservation is listed in mydisneyexperience app. She says she can not access 3rd party reservations and said that either I can say something during check in or contact Undercovertourist, com and have them update the reservation. I sent UndercoverTourist an email and am still waiting for a response. Now I am wondering if UndercoverTourist customers are treated differently.

I just don't want you to be disappointed if there isn't any acknowledgement other than "Happy Anniversary". Sometimes you get varying degrees of pixie dust and sometimes you don't, but I wouldn't go in with expectations greater than maybe a cupcake here or there. And if something special does happen then that's awesome! Fingers crossed for you though. Still what a special time to spend together at Disney.

No, it's no different than if you had used a travel agent. If you booked using a travel agent, they can't touch the reservation either.

Last year DH and I babysat our preschool-age grandkids while our DD and DSIL went to dinner for his birthday, their first dinner out together after Covid. DH and I stopped at the restaurant ahead of time to request that they do something small like Mickey glitter on the table, and the manager assured us that they would, and also provide a cupcake or other small item. DSIL wore his birthday button and no one even mentioned it, let alone actually doing anything.

This is how it works when booking through a travel agent, which in this case is what UT is. IT's the same thing if I book a cruise through costco travel - i need to call costco travel to update my cruise reservation, the cruise company would be unable to help me.
