I am relatively new to SB and I'm very anxious about starting our wedding album. :o This is the most important day of our lives and I would hate to screw up the album!

I am almost finished with our latest WDW vacation (10 days last December) which will end up being right around 100 pages. I have also done a few pages in my DB album (about 8 pages), and 3 racing albums (about 20 pages/each).

Here's the problem: All of these albums are what I would classify as whimsical. Usually you can see my crazy personality coming through! That is not the style that I want for our wedding album. I want something that is classic and timeless! :)

In order to help the problem, I have decided I will use the same color scheme throughout the album (lavendar, cream and silver). I want to stay with more muted colors and portray a more formal feel. Any other ideas? Has anyone tackled something in which they were focused on being classic? I've search some websites, but want to hear more "real-life" experiences. ::yes::

What should I do? How should I tackle this album?

I recently did a 60th Anniversary album for a friend for her grandparents. We wanted it to have a "classic" theme as many of the pictures were black and white, and about 80years old. She chose a black album and black pages. Originally we had decided to stick with black, white, silver and gold for the colors, but also expanded to a muted color palette (like sage green, mint green, mauve...Kind of the "heritage" color palette) The album flowed pretty well because I tried to have similar "toppers" on each page, not too much picture cropping, and matting some of the pictures, but mostly using photo corners. The black corners really gave it a traditional look. I really didn't use many stickers (A few of the CM heritage stickers) in fact, there were so many pictures and wonderful stories, there wasn't a need for a lot of extra stuff. We were really happy with the way it turned out, so much so she is paying me to make albums for her parents 60th birthdays next year.

If you haven't seen the Two Peas website--try looking at the wedding or anniversary categories there. A lot of them are done in a very traditional style and stick to one color palette.
