Wednesday 17th August
Shopping and Typhoon Lagoon
We dragged ourselves out of bed today and made our way to the Crackel Barrell on the 192 which was another first for us. I gorged on my pancakes and syrup! We spent a pleasant hour or so in the rocking chairs on their porch and the kids played draughts.
We all fancied staying out of the sun this morning so we went to the Mall at Millenia for a wander round.
Gianni bought a Nintendo game and the rest of us just window shopped. To Enzs great relief I was too embarrassed to go into Tiffanys in my shorts and t-shirt! After a couple of hours of non-shopping we left the Mall and drove to Typhoon Lagoon.
We arrived at about 2ish and lazy rivered for a while before hitting a couple of rides. Crush n Gusher was fabulous had to do it twice I couldnt stop laughing and screaming on my way down!
We had a very late lunch before having a lazy time in that river again unfortunately it felt like the majority of people at T L that day were in there with us!
We spent the last couple of hours in the wave pool. I lost the elastic bands out of my hair Enz managed to find one of them how???!!! I scraped my knee on the floor thank goodness Id bought loads of 1st aid supplies from Walgreens
We were shattered by 6pm the park was closing at 6.30.
We returned to the Villa for showers and a little rest.
Tonight we decided to have dinner then have a round of mini-golf because the holiday was coming to an end and Gianni was driving us mad wanting to play! We drove along the 192 and were headed to the mini golf next to the Magic Mining Co and were going to have dinner there. We did a u-turn and decided to check out Key W Kools as their entrance was just handy for the turn. The setting in here was really pretty and atmospheric. Unfortunately we didnt think much to the service. The waiter rushed us through our order, brought drinks for Enz and Gabs, tried to leave me a bottle of wine when Id ordered just a glass, disappeared for ages, had to be asked a couple of times for Giannis drink and then my food order was wrong. They brought me a t-bone with pasta and Id ordered a filet mignon. So while the rest of the family were eating I sat there like a right lemon just watching them. When my meal finally arrived the meat was lovely and tender, unfortunately it was sat in a pool of water from the not very well drained veg. I was starving and grumpy by now so just ate it.
The waiter wasnt the friendliest of chappies but did perk up a bit when he brought the bill over. Enz was looking at the bill and I could tell he was unhappy theyd charged for a whole bottle of wine and for my not-ordered t-bone meal! Ooops! Decided to take the kids out I really wasnt in the mood for this. We waited in the car for about ½ hour I dont remember the last time we complained about a meal, maybe we over-reacted? The managress eventually took the t-bone off the bill but argued about that to begin with! She also deducted to cost of my meal which came to $23 and only charged for the glass of wine. I know some might say what a result but it was so disappointing I would glady have paid more than that if it had been a nicer experience.
Since returning Ive read someones comments on the Dibb about the Magic Mining Co and I wish we had eaten thee instead.
Anyway, enough of my moaning!
We played mini golf and Enz won thats an annoying habit of his
It was really hot tonight and we were really tired and sticky and ready to go straight to bed when we arrived back home.
