Saturday 13th August
Epcot & DTD
I woke up at 5.30 and decided to have a swim before the kids woke up. I didnt tell them until bed-time that Id done this. If Id told them when they woke up we would have left the Villa late lol
After a quick brekkie in the villa we left for Epcot arriving just before opening.
This is where we split up for a short while. Enz & Gianni took a right to go and get us all fastpasses for Soarin. Gabs & I took a left and walked straight onto Mission:Space. Enz didnt fancy trying it and Gianni was to scared too even though Gabs & I had told them last year that it was fab.
We all met up to walk onto Test Track after which it was time to head over to Soarin to use the fastpasses. What an amazing journey!
The children had ice-cream in the Lands foodcourt. I really couldnt face eating in here although the food looked nice there were so many flies all over the place. I always forget about the fly problem they seem to have here and haul the family in there for something to eat! I will remember for next time!
We went into Innoventions for a while, sent an e-mail postcard home and played a few games.
By now World Showcase had opened. This is where the EATING began. We decided to all choose one snack for us to share in each country. This was harder than it sounds because Gabriella doesnt eat meat so we mixed up the savoury and sweet a bit!
As we went along the children also made a mask each stopping at the Kidcot stations - I always say it but I really didn't think they'd want to make them again this year but they still love making them!
Mexico Gabs chose a churros for us to share and I HAD to try a frozen margarita unfortunately Gabs took a liking to it too and I had to keep prising it out of her hands .12 years olds! Honestley!
Norway Gianni chose a Lefse a wrap spread with sugary butter yum!
China Enz chose 2 things to try Egg Rolls & vegetable Lo-Mein.
Germany I chose a pretzel (yes I know theyre available all over the place for us to try but the only other choices were sausages) and a beer which was split evenly between all four of us. Must stop the kids drinking in public
Italy by now the kids were hot and thirsty so the sharing a snack thing started to fall apart! The children had a granita each; Enz and espresso and I had a cappuccino (why? As if I wasnt feeling the heat already this made it worse!) and a biscotti which tasted just like my grans home-made ones.
We were all hot and tired by now so we decided to catch the boat in the USA to Canada and then headed out of Epcot and back to the villa to cool down with a swim.
Later in the evening we drove to Downtown Disney and went to the Earl of Sandwich for dinner. Gabs had The Caprese; Gianni a kids Turkey & Swiss and Enz and I shared a Beef n Bleu (yummy) and a Chinese chicken salad.
We hotfooted it over to Ghiradellis for sundaes to use our Buy One Get One Free voucher and the ½ price voucher which I received after registering on the Ghiradelli website whilst at home.
The children had a kids Smores sundae each and Enz and I shared a kids Smores sundae. We were quite full from our E O S meals but we were not going to let those vouchers go to waste! The sundaes were really yummy and sickly sweet but we still managed to finish them off
We were all really, really tired by now so Enz drove back to the villa with the children and me dozing in the car.
