Anyone know of websites for the frugal. We are looking at going to one income and thus, becoming VERY frugal. Anyone have recommendations for helpful websites? I know about mousesavers for WDW trips but any others? Disney and otherwise............. :earboy2:

:groom: (love these smilies!)

I look forward to hearing about some good sites as well. I am the ultimate in frugal, but I have yet to find a good website that I like. In the meantime, go to your local library and check outComplete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn. It's a great book that got me started on my tightwad life. I'm sure some people frown on my cheapness but hey, I'm still going to Disney, aren't I?! :D So what if that means I'll be staying in a $30 hotel! It's simply a matter of re-evaluating ones priorities! My priorities are just a bit different than most!

oh! another idea is www.freecycle.org. to quote from their website: "Freecycling is a worldwide movement dedicated to recycling useful items within communities. On Freecycle, you can find new homes for things you no longer need, and locate items you are looking for as well--FREE. Clean out your attic and garage, keep useful stuff out of the landfill, and help others!" Doesn't hurt to check it out.

Good luck!

I've gotten a ton of good information at frugalliving.about.com and the living frugally section of delphiforums.com. They are both free (though delphi has a paid upgrade available). There is a lot of good information and lots of friendly forum folks too.

I have three versions of the Tightwad gazzette. Excellent advice in all of them. Also don't forget coupons and freebie sites. Mycoupons.com has some great boards if you haven't been there before. In fact, that's the site where I found out about here.

If you are in need of electronics on a budget, or need geeky advice try the forums on slickdeals.net

http://www.allthingsfrugal.com/

http://www.jumpondeals.com/

http://www.flyertalk.com/

FlyerTalk, part of the WebFlyer Network, features discussions and chat boards that covers the most up-to-date traveler information. An interactive community dedicated to your favorite topic: frequent flyer miles! That's right: all miles, all the time.

www.cheapskatemonthly.com is a great site with a good variety of resources. There is a paid membership to get the full benefit from the site, but I think it's worth every cent.

Next time you go to the library, do a search for any books by Mary Hunt who founded Cheapskate Monthly. Her books are excellent.

Best wishes! :D

www.restaurants.com
example: You look up your city or vacation spot. Most of the coupons cost $3. or $10 for a $10 or $25 gift cert. (respectively). If it's your first visit or you know the secret Disney code, you get 50% off the price.SSSOOOOOO.....you can get $25 worth of food for....$5. It's awesome.Check it out.

www.fatwallet.com

www.mobissimo.com (airline tickets)

All kinds of ways to save there.

Takes some reading though.

www.dealagogo.com

A website devoted to grocery coupons and deals in general for things like health and beauty aids, rebates, etc. If you put a little thought/work into it you can save a ton of money.

www.cutouthunger.org

A great site with coupon and rebate info...

I also use dealagogo.com (formed by member of fatwallets coupon board when it was closed down)
