The queue thing is gonna suck for 8:00a 7 month / 11 month windows if this stays like this.

Was just coming on to see if I was the only one with issues - this waiting room thing is weird.

I remember last year they had the waiting room in place when dues initially came out but I don't remember seeing it since then.

The queue is not new. It automatically kicks in when there’s a lot of traffic. I’ve seen it when the annual dues are updated and people rush to check them and pay.

It’s on right now because people were waiting for the site to go up again.

I got in after 15 minutes. Was able to modify my reservation, ,though it took several try’s to get the dashboard up. i didnt linger because i knew there was a line 😁

I waited in this queue, it said it was my turn, I clicked, and then I still got Olaf 🤦

Olaf kicked me out of line. Thor really does not want me to have BW view.

I got in before Olaf became a jerk. I'm pretty sure based upon your post you were in line before me though, so that is weird.

I was in line for about 15 minutes and got on. I just ended my visit to the dysfunctional DVC site.

I got in after waiting about 10 minutes in the online wait queue - was able to make all my ressies!

If DVC didn't impose a 7 day maximum, it would effectively give preference to members with a large number of points. Imagine you and I both want to book September 1-7. You only have enough points for that trip so you cannot book until February 1 (7 months from check-in.)

I have a lot of extra point sitting around so today I book August 20 - September 7. Then a couple weeks from now, I drop Aug 20-31 from my reservation, keeping only 9/1 - 9/7.

It's another form of "walking" that would be much easier for large point owners without the 7 day booking limit. And large point owners are the ones who are probably most apt to manipulate the system--targeting specific rooms and dates for rental purposes, etc.
I never do only 7 night stays and I thought that I have previously been able to book my entire vacation. Mind you because of how availability has been for the past 5ish years we’ve had to constantly do split stays, so that’s likely why I don’t recall it.

A lot of people stay longer than 7 nights so I just think it should at least be closer to 10 nights. It’s stressful to have to do it this way because we do not want to do a split stay (we liked them but just want to stay in one place for once) and trying to book a high demand room I cannot see what will disappear in the end of my trip. So if I book my first 7 nights I could get to night 9 and suddenly dates after my window have disappeared. So I would then either have to switch to a resort that’s my last choice or do a split stay. When it may have been possible to get the entire time at another resort that was higher on my priority list for the later dates but the early dates are then no longer there because it is past the 7 month window.

So I’m sorry, I just find it highly stressful…and annoying to have to do this every day for over a week. I’m pretty meticulous and over organized (and an overthinker) so I like to be able to get it booked and worry something will get messed up in this scenario. So while I get what you are saying about the high points advantage, I personally hate the 7 night maximum.

It's been arrival day + 6 (7 total days) for more than a decade now.

I'm not saying that's wrong. Just that the further out DVC allows members to book, the more advantage it would give to large point owners.
