Website that will check in for you?

A few weeks ago, someone started a thread about a website that will do your online check in for you. Of course, I can't find it now.

This would be so helpful to us, as we're flying SW and will be in the parks at our 24 hour mark. I know we could go to guest services, but boy, it would be super convenient to just fill out that information beforehand and not worry about it.

Can someone give me a link to the site?

Also, any updated advice on using this is appreciated.

TIA!

Here they are

boardfirst.com
checkinsooner.com

I am NOT an advocate of either of these sites....Neither is Southwest. I have done my checkin a few ways, at Guest Services, via a friend at home who happily checked me in, and with a webenabled phone. Southwest is also seeking out ways to shutdown these check-in services. Something to keep in mind.

Have you had a bad experience with either of these?

I don't think I've heard of anyone here having a 'bad experience' with these companies, but for the life of me, I can't think of why I would pay someone to do something that a friend or family member would do for nothing. Just have someone, at home, check in for you. Just give them your conf. number and then when you get to the airport, just have the boarding pass printed out. Lots of people do it that way.
I have heard that SW isn't crazy about having a company that checks people in, on-line.

Wow, who even knew there was a service like this! It is never a big deal to check in before we leave, but on vacation it can be a bit of a pain to remember. Our next trip we will be on a cruise after Disney, so I hate to bother with check in during that. I plan to ask my sister to do this for us, but so interesting that companies are poping up to do the task...that sure is free enterprise at work!

Or you can check in with your cell phone if it is web-enabled - I've done it several times. Just tell them when you get there that you checked in, but could not print your boarding pass. Make sure you have your confirmation number handy. No problem!

I agree. I don't think it's fair that these sites use some kind of software to get in at exactly the 24 hour mark and block others from getting their "A" boarding passes. I also agree that you can have a friend or family member check in for you at no charge. ;)

I can't either. But it's free.

I checked us in from the internet cafe on the Magic and it was so quick and easy. No big deal really and still got A passes. Next time I won't bother printing them though. The printer ran out of paper so it took a while to refill it. Then the man who was trying to print before me who clicked the print button 6 times before realizing it was OOP, had to get his 6 copies of 6 or 7 family members before mine would print. All the while I'm racking up internet charges. Final cost $9. I would have contested it at GS but there was such a huge line of people since it was the last night.
:headache: okay, so it wasn't really quick and easy but it would have been if I skipped the printing part! :)

I've used checkinsooner for our last two trips to WDW, mainly for the convenience of the return trip where we are running around the parks at the 24 hour mark. I don't see any difference with them doing it for me or me sitting in front of a computer and hitting the enter key at the 24 hour mark. And I don't want to have to stop the fun to run over to guest services and possibly stand in a line to request them to check me in. I like to think they have more important things to do. It works for me, but YMMV.

No I haven't used them. But I know there was a different SW checkin website posted here on the Dis early last year. SW shut them down and their "clients" were left without anyone to check them in. I don't remember the name of the site off the top of my head. I sent a letter to complimentary letter to SW about another issue, but mentioned these "checkin sites". The letter that I received from SW told me that they are aware of them and are seeking ways to shut them down. Just so you know.
I have even done the online checkin for some Dis members. Someone once offered to do it for me, so I am just paying it forward.

Okay, so they aren't charging for this 'service'....have you asked yourself 'why'? I can't imagine why someone would have a service that offers to check people in, for their flights, on-line, and not charge anything. Call me a cynic, but I just don't get it.

I'm with you. checkinsooner.com is free for the first SW roundtrip checkin. If you need a second one, you have to signup for a free account. The third one, you are "encouraged" to sign up for a membership, 10-days for $10 or an annual membership for $79.
So for one checkin it is free enterprise. Maybe the site owner is a SW flyer who didn't want to sit and wait at their computer :confused3 Maybe they are the kind, benevolent type :confused3

As for me, I will stick with checking in on my phone, or having a friend check me in. That way, I can call them and verify that it was done.

Actually, I think they do charge for it if you use it a couple of times. I think it's targeted at frequent fliers who might subscribe to the service.

I'm sorry that I seem to have touched a nerve with you by asking this question...that wasn't my intention, as I'm not a pool-hopping, mug-reusing, 5-in-a-value-room type of person. I was just asking about a service that I'd heard about on these boards...didn't mean to grate on any nerves! :goodvibes :)

Thanks to those who gave info/opinions on this service...now I can explore the site and see if it's right for me.
