Has anyone taken the account number that you receive from Webcertificates and used it in a store or on the telephone instead of online? I have read it can be manually entered in a register instead of ordering the actual card to be swiped. I redeemed my MyPoints 2 weeks ago today and still no email from WC. When I redeemed the points it said 1-2 weeks to recieve an email from WC. I am running out of time before our vacation and have $40 worth of Webcertificates coming.

I imagine you could use it for a telephone transaction but I don't know of any merchant that would 'take your word for it' & manually enter it without a plastic....

You can definitely use it over the phone or on the internet without the plastic. As for an in-person retail store, I think it would depend on the store's policy.

I've seen where some people posted on these boards about bringing their account information (a printout of acct number, expiration, etc) to a Disney Store and having the cashier punch in the number to purchase the equivalent in Disney Dollars.

The easiest thing might be to call Disney Reservations with the info and tell them you'd like to apply $40 towards your reservation.

If your room or package is not paid off, it will give you a $40 discount....basically, $40 less you would have to pay upon arrival.

If you room or package is paid off already, they may allow you to credit the $40 to your reservation and then use your room key to charge on it while you are there. I don't know if they would allow this, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Over the telephone they don't need to SEE the credit card... In person not only do you have to have the signed card but they commonly check ID as well...

Sorry...I reread your post and I understand what you are saying now.
